Minister Bowleg points his Ministry’s Way Forward in Sports - Nov 8, 2021 - 9:52:07 AM

During his Contribution on the Speech from the Throne, in the House of Assembly, on November 3, 2021, Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture the Hon. Mario Bowleg noted that his government recognized the capacity of sports to deliver “a sense of deep spirituality because it emanates from a natural impulse for freedom, symbolic meaning and the pursuit of perfection, with the recognition that sports delivers healthy bodies and fresh minds”.

“My Ministry, in consistency with this Administration’s ideology, will seek the support of stakeholders to make contributions for the success of sports,” Minister Bowleg said...

Prime Minister Hon. Philip Davis congratulates MVP Jonquel Jones - Sep 30, 2021 - 6:10:57 PM

Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis extends heartfelt congratulations to  Bahamian Jonquel Jones on being named the 2021 Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) MVP.  Jones who plays with the Connecticut Sun, hails from Holmes Rock, Grand Bahama.  

The Prime Minister wishes to highlight Jones’ efforts and professional commitment, which are being recognized by this award. She is the first Bahamian-born professional basketball player to gain such recognition. Jones received 48 of 49 first place votes to win the 2021 MVP.

Driven by success and viral popularity, a campaign initially designed for Nassau to spread the message of the importance of a clean, green and pristine environment among young students will go national February 1, Minister of Environment and Housing Romauld ‘Romi’ Ferreira revealed today.

Environment and Housing Minister Romauld ‘Romi’ Ferreira hit the airwaves from one end of the dial to the other like a sprinter with a microphone to spread the message of getting involved in the #Be A Hero campaign – a program aimed at instilling a renewed sense of pride in surroundings and respect for the environment by involving every student in primary and junior high school in New Providence.
