NASSAU, Bahamas – Sunshine Insurance (Agents & Brokers) Ltd.’s 15th annual Elmira College essay competition is officially open.

The contest gives 10th, 11th and 12th grade students an opportunity to win $150,000 in scholarships.  The first place winner takes home $60,000 scholarship and the three runners-up will each receive $30,000 scholarships.

This year’s topic is, “If given the opportunity to start a business, what would your new product or service be?”

The broadcasting of these films also coincides with Sir Sidney Poitier’s birthday, which is on 20 February, when he will turn 89 years old.

To this end, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration wishes to invite all students from the public and private high schools to participate in an essay competition to commemorate this occasion.
