in George Town, Exuma. The Cameron Williams Cup Race was the only race
held during day two (held in honour of the late Jr. Skipper).

NEMA Facilitates Training on Japanese Grant Aid Disaster Management Equipment

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is pleased to receive
the remainder of equipment which is part of the $1.8 million Japanese
Grant Aid project to The Bahamas in support of the country’s disaster
management programme. The equipment includes four balloon lights, eight
water pumps, 40 VHF base radio stations, and 200 hand-held radios.
25 staff from NEMA, personnel of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, the
Royal Bahamas Police Force and the Ministry of Works underwent training,
December 17-20, in basic operation and maintenance of the equipment.

Air Traffic Control related delays

Bahamasair is advising the public that due to earlier weather related
challenges today at the Lynden Pindling International Airport, Air
Traffic Control (ATC) held a number of flights on the ground. As a
result of these Air Traffic Control related challenges a number of our
flights are now carrying significant delays, as well as our flight 320
which was returned to Freeport after holding in the air for 35 minutes.
Other airlines, as well as our remaining schedule have been impacted by
these ATC related delays by as much as 2 hours. Furthermore, we
regrettably advise the travelling public that that some of our outbound
US flights may not be able to clear Customs in Nassau and may have to be
post-cleared in the United States...
American Airlines Brings New Flights To The Islands Of The Bahamas

The holidays in North Eleuthera and Marsh Harbour, Abaco got a lot
busier after American Airlines brought in two new flights from
Charlotte, North Carolina.
The flights began on December 22 and will continue to those locations every Saturday.

Officials of the Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC) inspected the
water plant at the site of the former US Navy Experimental Facility in
Eleuthera, Friday, December 21, 2018.
The plant supplies water
for the settlements of Gregory Town, Hatchet Bay, James Cistern,
Governor’s Harbour, Palmetto Point and Windermere Island. The facility
holds four water tanks. Two are currently in operation. The purpose of
