Coalition to Save Clifton Celebrates 20 years

The Coalition to Save Clifton, known as the first advocacy group
established to appeal to government to keep the western-most coast of
New Providence for Bahamians, recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.
Reverend CB Moss, the coalition’s chairman, brought together key players
in the fight to save Clifton Bay and honoured them in a special
ceremony at Poop Deck, Sandyport on April 10.
Rev Moss noted
that back in 1999, he gathered a team and began appealing for the sacred
spaces in Clifton to be preserved for the history, culture and
enjoyment of Bahamians...
OAS and Latin American Federation of Banks to Cooperate on Cybersecurity

The Organization of American States (OAS) and the Latin American
Federation of Banks (FELABAN) today signed a cooperation agreement for
capacity development on cybersecurity in Latin America, at a ceremony
held at the headquarters of the hemispheric institution in Washington
General Secretary of FELABAN Giorgio Trettenero said the
agreement "will allow us to unite efforts in a topic of high impact and
importance for the banking of the region such as cybersecurity". He also
recalled that during a recent strategic planning meeting of FELABAN
"Cybersecurity was the issue of highest priority and importance of the
management agenda of the institution."

It is clear from the IMF’s initial Article IV assessment that the reform
agenda of the Minnis-led administration is moving the country in the
right track. The economy is getting stronger. The fiscal measures to
raise revenue and contain expenditure are bringing the nation’s public
deficits down in line with an articulated and published plan. The
financial affairs of the country are stabilizing and the economy is
expanding after years of stagnation; this is setting the stage for
sustained economic growth and shared prosperity across The Bahamas.
As I consistently point out, there is still much work to do. In respect
to public finances, there remains a need to ensure expenditure

and Urban Development, have teamed up with Temperament and Anger
Management consultant, Dr. Eric W. Fox, to provide a six-week Anger
Management certificated course aimed at addressing violence within

The Honourable Darren A. Henfield, MP, Minister of Foreign Affairs, led a
delegation from The Bahamas to Miami, Florida, for a one-day
Ministerial Meeting that resulted in the launch of the US-Caribbean
Resilience Partnership on 12th April 2019. The Meeting, which took place
at the U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) headquarters in Miami, was
hosted by U.S. Deputy Secretary of State John. J. Sullivan, who led an
interagency team of United Sates senior officials and experts.
Participants from the Caribbean included eighteen (18) Caribbean
countries, the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency and the

ever seen in the Festival, St. Francis de Sales Catholic School female
students received an honour score, in the E. Clement Bethel National
Arts Festival Abaco adjudications, on April 9, 2019, at the St. Francis
de Sales Parish, in Marsh Harbour. Mr. Carroll pointed to their solid
choreography, utilization of proper dance moves, and use of both upper
