NHI Authority holds successful community and stakeholder meetings in Grand Bahama - Nov 7, 2018 - 11:07:45 AM

On November 5th and 6th, the NHIA visited Grand Bahama and had successful meetings with local residents in Freeport and Eight Mile Rock and representatives of the business community during which they engaged in meaningful dialogue on the proposed plan for NHI Bahamas. As part of the 45-day consultation period, community meetings and stakeholder consultations will continue until December 6, 2018.

The Cabinet Office announced today that an Official Funeral will be held for the late Mr. Bradley Roberts, former Cabinet Minister and Parliamentarian, on Friday, 9th November, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, West Street.  Interment will follow at the Western Cemetery, Nassau Street.

The Over-the-Hill Community Development Partnership Initiative received a donation from Albany Bahamas of $300,000 for the redevelopment of historic Southern Recreation Grounds.

The presentation took place during a press conference on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Office of the Prime Minister, Cecil Wallace-Whitfield Centre. It’s half of a total of $600,000 pledged.

The Hon. Desmond Bannister, Minister of Public Works, headed a list of officials who participated in a ground breaking ceremony Monday, November 5, 2018 for Palm Cay’s One Marina, a $100-million luxury residential and resort complex on Yamacraw Hill Road, the eastern end of New Providence.

'One Marina' overlooks a marina and 84 two- and three-bedroom condominiums and penthouse complex with modern interior designs and high-end finishes. Designed by Winston Jones, architect, the project is planned to be completed by 2020. To date, approximately 107 units have been constructed and 72 lots have been purchased...

Action taken over incident at PMH over the weekend - Nov 5, 2018 - 7:07:15 PM

The Public Hospitals Authority (PHA) acknowledges with regret an incident which occurred on Saturday, November 3rd 2018, between employees of a cleaning service contracted to provide housekeeping services at the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH). The PHA has been advised that the contractor has taken action to resolve the matter and bring the responsible parties to account. The PHA wishes to confirm that there was no PMH employee involved in the incident.

The incident, which has been making rounds via social media, occurred in the downstairs corridor of the PMH Outpatient Wing, and involved a physical altercation between an employee and supervisor hired by the contracted cleaning service...
