It’s a piece of advice that runs counter to the bone-loving dogs the mass media has for generations depicted – cooked bones from table scraps can be harmful causing injuries or even fatalities, according to Dr Winston Davis, president of the Bahamas Veterinary Association.

“I recently had a case of a three-year-old male dog presenting with vomiting and severe abdominal pain and trying to defecate. From his history, we found out that he was fed pig’s feet a few days prior but was fine after eating it,” said the veterinary practitioner with a decade of experience in improving the lives of animals...

As the Bearers' Party solemnly entered the Supreme Court and draped the Bahamian Flag over the coffin of the Late Chief Justice of The Bahamas, the Hon. Mr. Justice Stephen Gerard Isaacs, on September 7, 2018, it represented to some what his life meant to the island-nation – he was a “true son” of the Bahamian soil.

That day, the country paid its respects to the first Chief Justice to die in his post with a State Funeral Service that brought together not only the Executive, Judicial and Legislative Branches of Government; but also family members, friends and well-wishers for a man who served his country in the public arena for almost 25 years...

TCL Group’s Bahamas Business Outlook (BBO)Series has added a new, timely element to its 2018 seven-island business platform series -The “Ease of Doing Business Workshop”, which is to be conducted by experts from the Department of Inland Revenue (DIR) under the Ministry of Finance.

The Workshop is partnership between TCL and the Ministry, with the aim of improving The Bahamas’ global rank in respect of the “Ease of Doing Business”. It was first introduced at the Eleuthera, Spanish Wells and Harbour Island Business Outlook in April of this year...

The Building and Development Services Department of The Grand Bahama Port Authority (GBPA), Limited demolished the remnants of the previously burnt section of the International Bazaar’s Straw Market on Thursday, August 30th, 2018.  The memorable blaze that ripped through the market in March of this year, left at least a dozen straw vendors displaced.  The burnt structure created an eyesore, which later progressed to an unauthorized dumpsite.  Residents voiced their concerns over the past months, noting that something needed to be done to address the deteriorating impact that the burnt structure posed to the area, which was being abused by individuals for the disposal of debris...
