Search underway for missing fisherman off Great Harbour Cay - May 17, 2015 - 2:34:46 PM

BERRY ISLANDS, The Bahamas - A major search and rescue operation is under way to find two fishermen who went missing in waters off Great Harbour Cay in the Berry Islands on Saturday 16th May 2015.

The two men Dwayne Deangelo Winder age 23 and Leslie Travis Winder age 25, both of William Dean Senior Highway, Bullocks Harbour, left that island on a fishing trip around 9:00am in a white and gray 10 -15 feet vessel with a 25 - horse power engine. The men were last seen in the area of little Sturrup Cay around 1:00pm yesterday.

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s assistance in solving a shooting incident that has left a jet-ski operator detained in hospital on Saturday 6th December 2014.

According to reports, around 1:00pm, a male jet-ski operator was targeted and shot in the leg by two unknown assailants armed with a handgun in the area of the Old Customs warehouse building, Arawak Cay.

The man was taken to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.

Missing Grand Bahama Man, Sgt Frank Pearson Found Dead - Oct 8, 2014 - 5:10:02 PM

Freeport, The Bahamas -  On Wednesday 8th October 2014 shortly after 12:00pm, as a result of the missing person report, police officers discovered the lifeless body of retired Sergeant Frank Pearson who was found lying on his back at the edge of the canal in the Coral Road area. Medical Personnel from the Rand Memorial Hospital were on the scene where the body was pronounced lifeless.

There is no evidence of foul play at this time; an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

Freeport, Grand Bahama - Police in Grand Bahama are investigating a report of a missing 63 year old American visitor.

Reports are that on Monday 14th July 2014, shortly after 4:30pm, a crew of American visitors were on board a vessel scuba diving in the area of Memory Rock situated some four miles north of West End, Grand Bahama. After scuba diving, they discovered that one of the passengers was missing. A search was made of the entire area with negative results. An extensive search was made by the Royal Bahamas Police Force Marine section and the Royal Bahamas Defence Force with the assistance of the U.S Coast Guard...
