BIFF Best Of Fest Eleuthera to hold celebration tribute for Arthur Rolle - Dec 11, 2012 - 12:35:27 AM
On December 12th, Bahamas
International Film Festival (BIFF) will be saluting Arthur C Rolle
of Governor's Harbour in Eleuthera who had the foresight to establish
the original Parade Theatre in 1965 located across from the ball park in
Governor's Harbour.

Nassau, Bahamas - During the 2012 Bahamas International Film Festival
(BIFF), students from The College of The Bahamas (COB) will
be able to attend Master Classes in Acting and Directing, with help from RBC
Royal Bank. The classes, being held on December 8 and 9, will allow the
students to learn from experts in the field and participate in interactive
sessions where they can act and direct.

actress Sydney Tamiia Poitier (“Death Proof”, “The List”), daughter of
legendary Oscar winning actor American/Bahamian Actor Sidney Poitier and
actress Joanna Shimkus, will be honored with BIFF’s signature Shining
Star Tribute. The announcement was made by BIFF Founder & Executive

This year Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF)
partnered with Esso Bahamas Ltd. and BTC powered by Lime, to host the
annual BIFF 2012 Youth Film Workshops. In one week five (5) Government
Schools learned how to make a film in one day. Students had the opportunity to make 30 minute Documentary Films on
the topic of Jr. Junkanoo, titled
"25 Years of Junior Junkanoo".
Students filmed the process of pasting Junkanoo costumes, and
interviewed Teachers, Students, VIP's and Past Junkanoo Honorees.
Participating schools were C. C. Sweeting Sr. High School; Woodcock
Primary; A. F. Adderley Jr. High; C. R. Walker Senior High; and
