Supporting regional trade is central to the work of the Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export).  Caribbean Export in collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH or GIZ in short, supported the participation of four CARIFORUM companies to exhibit at the recently held Jamaica International Exhibition (JIE) at the Montego Bay Convention Centre from May 30 to June 1, 2019.

At the invitation of Rotary International (R.I.) President Barry Rassin, Celebrity Artist and Rotarian, Jamaal Rolle was asked to paint two “End Polio Now” creations at 10 minutes each before a live audience. The artist added a surprise twist by creating his work of art, upside-down to the delight of everyone.
 
It was a race with the clock, it was pure energy and fun of what materialized on stage that had the audience of 25,000 persons from around the world in suspense which turned to admiration of the artist’s charm and talent. Rolle started with a blank canvas painting most of it upside-down...

Participants of 11 Commonwealth Caribbean countries are exploring emerging technologies and the future of work and education at a workshop hosted by the Ministry of Education (MOE) in conjunction with Commonwealth of Learning (COL).

The three-day workshop entitled, “Women in ICT: the Future of Work in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI)” is being held at SuperClubs Breezes, June 11-13, 2019.  Topics include: Advancing and Emerging Technologies in Education..

On behalf of the Bahamian people and Government of The Bahamas I extend my deepest and heartfelt condolences to the families of Bahamians Alrae Ramsey and Blair John, who were found dead in Turin, Italy, under tragic circumstances.

I spoke with the Ramsey and John families at the weekend and assured them that the Government is doing everything it can to ensure that the remains of their loved ones are returned home to The Bahamas as soon as possible...

Staff and management of Garden of the Groves and the Garden Cafe are heartbroken about the passing of Ben and Judy. Ben was employed by the Garden of the Groves sister company, Grand Bahama Nature Tours, as a snorkel and kayak guide, from 2002 until 2017 when he retired to continue to immerse himself in  the creation of paintings that represented the Grand Bahama environment on land and below the sea!

Ben and Judy were such an important part of the Garden of the Groves and Grand Bahama Nature Tours Family and our memories are such happy ones! May they Rest In Peace...

The male who was shot and killed on Tuesday, 11th June, 2019 at a business establishment on John F. Kennedy Drive, has been officially identified as Alfred Gerard Kemp, age 37 years...

Lady Ingrid Darling, wife of former Governor General the late Sir Clifford Darling today accepted an invitation by the Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre (SRC) to serve as Patron of the 2019 Sandilands Fair.

Personally accepting the invitation from  Hospital Administrator Mary Lightbourne-Walker, Lady Darling expressed delight about serving, “I am pleased to once again be a part of this worthy effort to stage the fair this year, raising funds for one of the most important institutions for the care of our country’s elderly and disabled citizens”...

Police on New Providence are investigating a shooting incident, Tuesday 11th June, 2019 which has left an adult male dead.

According to reports, shortly after 12:00mid night, three security officers were on duty at a wholesale wine and spirits company on John F. Kennedy drive, when they were accosted by a group of armed men who held them at bay and robbed them of personal items...
