Prime Minister the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis today officially opened a 925-kilowatt solar plant facility at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium.

The facility, the largest of its kind in The Bahamas, is expected to replace the equivalent of 310,000 gallons of diesel annually, and will also serve as a carport with electric vehicle charging stations. It was made possible by a grant from the Government of the United Arab Emirates, through the UAE-Caribbean Renewable Energy Fund...

Primary and high school students garnered applause and cheers from the audience for their skills on percussion instruments, at the Dundas Centre for the Performing Arts, during the E. Clement Bethel National Arts Festival New Providence adjudication, on March 14, 2019.  The New Providence adjudication enters its second week, and over 1,100 entrants in New Providence are expected to take part in dance, drama, voice, playing musical instruments and arts and craft, through March 21.  The Dundas Centre for the Performing Arts is the venue for dance, musical instruments and drama, while Holy Trinity Church Activities Centre, Stapledon Gardens, is the venue for vocal performances.  All events are free and open to the public...

Last Friday, March 15th 2019, the Inter-American Model Law on the Prevention, Punishment and Eradication of the Gender-Related Killing of Women and Girls (Femicide/Feminicide) was officially launched, a document that seeks to create or update legislation in the region, as well as strengthen comprehensive action on prevention, protection, care, investigation, prosecution, punishment and reparation to guarantee the right of all women and girls to a life free of violence, as established in the Belém do Pará Convention, an international instrument signed and ratified by 32 States of the region.
