Officials at the Nassau Airport Development Company (NAD) are seeking proponents to design, finance, construct and operate an on-site hotel at Lynden Pindling International Airport. On Monday, January 21, the company will issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) document outlining details required to bid on the proposed airport hotel project. Final proposal submissions will be due on Friday, May 24, 2019.

NAD anticipates bids from a range of capable proponents and encourages interested parties to consider forming teams to respond to the opportunity. Respondent teams may be assembled in a variety of ways, including through contracts, partnerships or joint ventures...

Murder on Grand Bahama, Public assistance needed - Jan 13, 2019 - 8:07:02 AM


Police in Grand Bahama need your assistance in finding the person(s) responsible for a shooting incident that has left a male dead.

Reports are that on Sunday 13th January 2019, shortly after 12am, police were alerted to gunshots being fired in the area of East Atlantic Drive. Officers quickly responded and upon arrival discovered the lifeless body of a male, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are appealing to the public for any information that can assist with this

investigation, to give them a call at the Central Detective Unit at telephone numbers 350-3107 thru 12, 911/919 or call your nearest police station.

Police are seeking the public assistance in locating a man who is wanted for questioning in connection with a homicide investigation.
The suspect is: Andre Thompson, age 26 years of Sequoia Street, Pinewood Gardens.
Thompson is described as being 6’3” tall, medium build with brown complexion.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Andre Thompson is asked to contact the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, 919/911 or the nearest Police Station. Thompson is considered armed and dangerous.

A 12 year-old Bahamian students has become the youngest artist and the first Bahamian to participate in the RAW project which coincides with Art Basel in Miami, Florida Every year.

Sean Austin was proud of his painting of Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis shaking cowbells and rushing in a Junkanoo parade. His teacher, Cicely Bodie, was proud of him too, and created opportunities for him to show off his work of art, including meeting the Prime Minister himself. Fifty-five (55) Haitian migrants were charged before the courts after they were apprehended in waters off of Marsh Harbour during a joint operation by the Royal Bahamas Police Force, Immigration and Defence Force Officials last Thursday.

The migrants (45 males, 10 females), all pleaded guilty to illegal landing before Magistrate Cara Turnquest on Monday. They are expected to be deported as soon as possible.
