Philip Davis (pictured right while showing the framed imagery) received a presentation of a printed canvas entitled, “From On High”, by award-winning photographer Eric Rose. Over the years, Rose’s work in fine arts has been recognized both locally and internationally and has won him several awards. “From On High” features The Hermitage on Mt. Alvernia in Cat Island, and won the top award for Photography in the 2021 E. Clement National Arts Festival. Rose is also an intentionally-published poet and a veteran journalist...

The Ministry of Health & Wellness today advised that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has de-escalated the COVID-19 Travel Risk Advisory Rating for The Bahamas from a Level 4 (very high) to a Level 3 (high). 

The Level 3 rating advises international travelers to be up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccines before travelling to The Bahamas. It also recommends that even if COVID-19 vaccines are up-to-date...

On Wednesday, March 9, two Bahamasair chartered flights departed New Providence bound for Port-au-Prince, Haiti with an inclusive total of one hundred seventy-eight (178) Haitian nationals onboard.

The country’s First Lady, Mrs. Ann Marie Davis is appealing to the government for more statues to commemorate the contributions made by women in the country. In her role as head of the Office of the Spouse of the Prime Minister, Mrs. Davis was delivering the keynote address during a wreath-laying ceremony held on Prince George Wharf on Tuesday, 8th March.

The wreath was laid at the bronze statue of the Bahamian Mother and Child, located at the eastern end of the wharf.  The statue was commissioned in 1974 by former Parliamentarian, Mr. Oscar Johnson (Cat Island MP, 1968-1976)...
