Judo World Veterans Tournament Coming to the Bahamas - Aug 26, 2019 - 12:00:31 PM
Following the success of the Junior World Championships in October 2018,
this past week Bahamian Judo President D'Arcy Rahming met with
International Judo Federation Officials in Tokyo, Japan at the World
Judo Congress. The purpose of the meeting was to finalize details of the
Judo World Veterans Tournament coming to the Bahamas.
The
Veterans is the World's largest judo tournament with over 1000 athletes
over the age of 35. It is a much sought after tournament as the Veterans
tend to turn the tournament into a large family vacation bringing kids
and grand kids of all ages for an extended stay...

ITF Level 1 Coaching Course In The Bahamas Comes To A Close - Aug 24, 2019 - 10:45:43 PM
At the close of the ITF Level 1 Coaching Course the participants were
able to put all the knowledge and skill learned into practice.
On court the coaches implemented lessons plans that they designed.
Expert instructor Mr. John Goede, ITF Developmental Officer for the
Caribbean led the group over the past 12 days at the National Tennis
Centre.

Kit Spencer, President of IC Bahamas led a combined IC Caribbean team to
an over 70 tennis tournament in Belgium. The International Lawn Tennis
Clubs simplified as "IC" was originally established as a "way of
nurturing and preserving the camaraderie that existed between young
competitors of many countries who met in serious but friendly
competition".
Today 40 Clubs exist in five continents all over

The University of The Bahamas Mingoes women’s softball team allowed the
Warriors to score 8 runs in the second inning as the defending NPSA
champion Wildcats ended the game in 3 innings 15-0 Tuesday night at The
Bankers Field at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex.
The Mingoes
allowed three runs in the opening inning but the Warriors bats coupled
with several defensive errors in the third put the game too far out of
reach...

the 2019 Sands Beer Cup is in full swing. After 6 rounds, the current
leader is Jenna Bayles with a total of 151 points representing her best 4
rounds. Jenna also just recently won the Ladies National Amateur
Championship and is a member of the National Team. Jenna has a 5 point
lead over Nyah Singh in second place at 146. Heathcliff Kane is third

Tennis Association(BLTA) TF Junkanoo Bowl played amid a throng of
supporters at The National Tennis Centre.
Sydney Clarke saw
action for the first time in singles after receiving a first round bye
due to her seeding position. Fans and friends came out to see the #1
ranked Bahamian junior in action and they witnessed a show of talent and
finesse. Mary Jean Brumfield from the USA fought a set down 5-7 to tie
