Bahamian musicians performed at the recent 50th Anniversary New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, attended by Minister of Tourism and Aviation the Hon. Dionisio D'Aguilar and Ministry officials.  Musicians Raphael Munnings, Nehemiah Hield, Dyson and Wendy Knight, Patrick Carey, Raphael "Raffe" Munnings, Jr., and the Bahamas Revue Band featured in the lineup.

Bristol Wines and Spirits and Lindeman’s Wines partnered in the launch of “Drifter in Residence” – an oceanographic expedition by acclaimed Bahamian artist Kishan Munroe, at an intimate gathering held at the “Never Say Never Again Bar and Grill” on April 24, 2019.

Minister of Social Services and Urban Development, the Hon. Frankie A. Campbell, recently endorsed the effort behind the book “Revelations of a Silent Heart” by literally “putting his money where his mouth is” and purchasing the first five copies of the book during its launch on Friday (April 26).

Artists and artisans were encouraged to fully utilize conch shells which have been discarded by Bahamians for generations.

R.N. Gomez All Age School showcased a sample of Berry Islands talent, during the E. Clement Bethel National Arts Festival Adjudications, at St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, on Bullock's Harbour.  Students and Music Teacher Lester Johnson performed for Music Adjudicator Trent Elliott Davis, who also gave pointers and played accompaniment for a few entrants.  There were also community entries in photography by Antonio Roberts.  School Principal Rev. Don L. Haynes is also Priest-in-Charge for St. Bartholomew's and assisted in logistics of the adjudications that day...

It was standing-room only, as the E. Clement Bethel National Arts Festival held its second annual "mega" multi-school Abaco adjudications at the Murphy Town Community Center, April 10, 2019.  Students from at least six public and private schools joined community performers for more than 30 entries in dance, drama, and music.  Students came from as far away as about 30 miles for S.C. Bootle High School and Cooper's Town Primary -- in Cooper's Town -- to as near as Patrick J. Bethel High School...

While giving a liturgical dance performance that was termed as one of the best that Dance Adjudicator and Cultural Icon Lawrence Carroll had ever seen in the Festival, St. Francis de Sales Catholic School female students received an honour score, in the E. Clement Bethel National Arts Festival Abaco adjudications, on April 9, 2019, at the St. Francis de Sales Parish, in Marsh Harbour.  Mr. Carroll pointed to their solid choreography, utilization of proper dance moves, and use of both upper and lower torso in their production as a few of the areas where they excelled in their performance...

New author Kevin Cartwright has released “Revelations of a Silent Heart”, his first in a series of books that he hopes would touch hearts and ignite love and passion in readers. He describes the book as “a brave compilation of various moods of poetry and prose that speak about life, love, risks and the courage to face head on whatever life throws at him”. Readers will see life and live through the eyes of a blind man.

Jamaal Rolle’s latest visual art’s piece created a buzz at a recent UNESCO Forum held in Changsha and Nanjing, China. Projected onto a large backdrop, the 20-foot creation was highly admired by attendees and officials; where many posed for a photo opportunity with “The Celebrity Artist” who is also a cultural ambassador of his island nation, The Bahamas.

James A. Pinder Primary School students showcased their talent, in the E. Clement Bethel National Arts Festival Abaco adjudications, on April 8, 2019, at the school in Sandy Point, South Abaco.  They performed in drama, Junkanoo drumming, and dance. Dance adjudicator and Cultural Icon Lawrence Carroll also gave the students and their teacher pointers.

Singing took centre stage at Hope Town Primary School, when the E. Clement Bethel National Arts Festival Abaco adjudications visited, on April 8, 2019.  The students formed choirs to sing gospel and Bahamian songs, while teachers Donnella Beckford and Chelsey Braaksma sang a spectacular duet from the musical "Wicked".  Rounding out the performances was Kailey Sweeting singing "Maybe" from the musical "Annie". All performances garnered impressive scores and comments from Music Adjudicator Trent Elliott Davis.

Pre-schoolers representing Government Pre-schools throughout New Providence showcased their talents in dance, song and poetry during the official opening ceremony of the 15th annual Pre-school Week and Exhibition.

Grand Bahama  students played the piano and keyboard, during the E. Clement Bethel National Arts Festival Grand Bahama adjudications, on April 4, 2019, at Grand Lucayan Convention Centre.  Among the performances were rousing classical performances by the Orchestra School of Music's William Moss and Sunland Baptist Academy's Chaya Carey.  Also, from St. George's High School students were a piano duet by Corey Higgs and Turquoise Dames, a keyboard Jazz improvised rendition of "Smoothie" by Joshua Russell, and an original piece by Shondre Moss.  More than 500 entries in dance, drama, the visual arts, and music...

Bishop Michael Eldon School student Lavonne Mack showed her talent on the violin, while Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Academy's Matthew Deveaux rapped about "Life on Earth" and St. George's High School's Camille Watson went hip hop with a version of Lauryn Hill's "That Thing", during the E. Clement Bethel National Arts Festival Grand Bahama adjudications, April 4, 2019, at the Grand Lucayan Resort Convention Centre.
