A scene from last year's event...

ABACO, Bahamas –  Some of the most celebrated artists of the Bahamas will gather at Abaco Beach Resort and Boat Harbour Marina this January to share the beauty of their work while protecting the beauty of the destination. Now in its sixth year, the Art for the Parks festival continues to showcase Bahamian talent while supporting the community’s dedication to environmental conservation.

Taking place at Abaco Beach Resort January 23-25, 2015, Art for the Parks attendees will enjoy a weekend full of festivities highlighting nature and local culture through art, music and more. More than 30 artists and craftsmen will have their works on display for purchase with proceeds going toward the preservation of Abaco’s six national parks and wildlife sanctuaries.

“This event has become a yearly staple at the resort,” said Brent Ingraham, Abaco Beach Resort director of sales and marketing. “We are proud to play a part in the preservation of our natural environment while also exhibiting the work of our talented community. Art for the Parks is important not only to raise much needed funds, but to also remind us of the importance of protecting our natural surroundings.  It’s important to our economy and to our future generations”

Art for the Parks, which is coordinated by the Bahamas National Trust in partnership with Abaco Beach Resort, kicks off with an opening gala on Friday, January 23 and continues throughout the weekend with a farmer’s market, musical entertainment, local cuisine and an interactive speaker’s corner.  For a full schedule of events, please visit the Bahamas National Trust's Facebook page. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12 years of age.

For guests traveling from Nassau, Abaco Beach Resort is offering a special Art for the Parks local package that includes:
