Alliance Francaise celebrates "French Week": Mar 17-21

Nassau, New Providence - The Alliance Francaise Des Bahamas celebrates French Week with a series of events during the week of March 17-21, 2014 to celebrate the French speaking countries of the world (la Francophonie).

This exciting week will feature films, lectures, dance presentations, and poetry recitals, including a presentation by Dr. Keithly Woolward, of the College of The Bahamas on Aimé César and his native Martinique; a conference by Dr. Irene Moss entitled "La Révolution Tranquille au Québec"; a presentation of Haiti and the role it plays in the Francophonie by Mr. Wallenson Norbert, First Secretary in charge of legal affairs at the Embassy of Haiti entitled "Haïti et son Rôle dans la Francophonie"; participation by Alliance Française advanced students in the international competition "La Plume d'Or"; Poetic presentation of "Marabout de Mon Coeur" d'Emile Roumer and "Les Animaux Malade de la Peste" (Fables de la Fontaine) by M. Antoine Ferrier, photographe and francophone notoire des Bahamas; 4 short dance interpretations entitled "Les Fables à la Fontaine" and a presentation of a French accordeon camp in Cat Island by Diana Hamilton (a Bahamian in Paris).

The Alliance receives support and donations, either financially or in kind from the Embassy of France in Jamaica, Société Générale Private Banking, its members and other private sponsors and donors and the Institut Français.
