Freeport, Grand Bahama - Sunday, March 13th 2016 was the painting exhibition of the 8th year of acrylic painting classes in the beautiful Garden of the Groves in Freeport. Most of the artist's names are now well known from past years: Eva von Albedyhill, Thea Albert, Suzanne Baker, Virginia Caferata, Eva Dehmel, Barbara Diamond Kaufmann, Arlene Kerber, Nicole Krapac, Joy Larsen, Mary Lips, Karen Matlack, Sirrisa Mc Cartney, Cali Veilleux and Gail Woon. Paul Gauguin was the inspiration of the group and the focus was particularly on his colours, which he used in his last years in Tahiti. A Bahamian beauty was a model and the environment of the Garden of the Groves was as always included. A large group of people came to see and admire the paintings which were placed in the bromeliads in the shade of the trees. It was a magnificent play of colours between paintings and plants which showed the results of yearlong training expressing the joy of painting.
