The Bahamas Brass Band traveled to Port Au Prince Haiti on April 9th for the Church of God of Prophecy's
75th Diamond Jubliee Anniversary/Convention.

Prior to this trip, the band had not been to Haiti since 1984, when it was under the directorship of the late Bishop Arthur Ferguson. "On that trip we carried 19 band men," said band member, Perez A. Burrows,
who spoke with TheBahamasWeekly.com and helps manage their Facebook page.

"However, this trip we carried 17 band men under the directorship of Bro. David G. Beneby, National Band Director and his assistant Pastor Barry B. Morris J.P."

Bahamas Brass Band celebrates 90 years in 2015 and has had over 500 members. Because the church COGOP is a large international body, the BBB travels to most church events, and just recently were in Trujillo, Peru.

The Bahama Brass Band [BBB] started in 1925 in Nassau, and the Grand Bahama segment started in 1958 as a band called The Grand Bahama Brass Band. Both bands were birthed under the COGOP banner.  However, the leadership of the church in 1971 sought it that there was no need for two church bands thus amalgamating the Grand Bahama Brass Band into the Bahama Brass Band.  Pastor Barry B Morris J.P is director of the Grand Bahama Segment.
