Diradiocast.com was on  hand for the inaugural Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival launch in Nassau recently and present their video featuring interviews and the sights and sounds.  Featured in this video is Roscoe Dames, Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival Committee; Franklyn Wilson;  Barabbas; the Hon Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham; Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture Hon. Danny Johnson; Miss Universe Bahamas, Tomii Culmer; Celeste Marshall, Miss Universe Bahamas 2012; and Percy 'Vola' Francis.

Several designers from the new costumes are also featured talking about the inspiration behind their outfits.

Diradiocast.com writes,

"Bahamas Carnival, now Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival is getting ready for its May 7-9, 2015 weekend of Carnival with over 20 bands registered to participate. Sept. 27, 2014 the Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival commission hosted its band unveil in Nassau, Bahamas. Spectators got an opportunity to embrace the spirit of carnival and enjoy the festivities. The prime minister of the Bahamas the Rt. Hon. Perry G Christie and the Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture Hon. Danny Jhonson echoed the promise of economic growth through tourism dollars.

While many are worried about the impact the Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival will have on cultural identity, the ultimate objective seems to be an increase in commerce."
