Bahamian artist Lillian Blades was just named a 2016 Visual Artist Award Honoree for Atlanta’s National Black Arts Festival’s (NBAF) Fine Art + Fashion event on March 17, 2016. This is the 10th anniversary celebration of this prestigious event where lovers of art and fashion, including some 400+ donors and collectors, come together as a benefit for NBAF.

Every year, the NBAF honours distinguished and accomplished visual artists at this event and this year is no different. In addition to Blades, noted African-American photographer and jewelry designer Coreen Simpson has also been named an honouree. The evening begins with a cocktail reception, followed by the awards program and The Art of Fashion show, and concludes with a post-show celebration.

Fine Art + Fashion is one of Atlanta’s premier benefit engagements, bringing together over 400 of the city’s top business, political and civic leaders who love the arts and fashion. The event raises funds to support NBAF’s multi-disciplinary arts programming in film, music, visual arts, theater and dance in addition to its education and public programs. The event includes a pre-show cocktail reception, awards and fashion presentation and a post-show celebration sponsored by Neiman Marcus. Tickets: Start at $500.

Each artist will have their artwork on display and will be presented with a beautiful award for their work.
