Nassau, Bahamas — Walking into the newly renovated Big Picture Paint & Sip Studio, it’s hard to miss an eclectic 8 x 14 ft. wall mural with bold patterns in the new lounge area. Owner Gennyne Hepburn worked closely with a local interior designer to expand her creative space at 8 South Buckner Square Sandyport. Renovations added 384 sq ft., nearly doubling the studio’s original capacity. Today, the art studio can comfortably accommodated approximately 40 guests for private functions and events.

Among the new features is a wine bar with fun, Art Deco and geometric designs along with transparent seating which seamlessly connects the lounge with the original paint and sip area. The renovated space is ideal for events from corporate holiday parties, poetry and spoken word sessions to product launches or even book signings and creative pop-ups. Already, event planners, artists, businesses and nonprofit groups are reaching out to pre-book the studio and the company anticipates a busy holiday season ahead.

“We wanted to take our existing space and create an atmosphere that would be suitable for larger groups and corporate clients,” Hepburn explained. “Our business model always included plans to increase the physical footprint of the studio. It’s a natural evolution of the model and it allows us to diversify our product offerings.”

She continued: “By reinvesting in a spacious and comfortable lounge area, persons can fully enjoy their experiences at our studio and actually be able to host and socialize more in the space.

Since opening its doors in April 2016, Big Picture Paint & Sip Studio continues to be a leader in the local experiential business market, capitalizing on the growing demand for creative and more interactive social experiences.  In addition to group bookings, the company remains focused on welcoming small groups of friends to paint, sip, relax and unwind while celebrating birthdays, date nights and other occasions.

In 2020, the studio will continue its community outreach initiatives with groups like the Bahamas Humane Society, Lupus 242 and others. Recently, Big Picture teamed up with the AIDS Foundation Of The Bahamas to host children from their Resource Center at the studio.

“It’s in moments like those that we are reminded of the impact that art has on children,” Hepburn shared. “Next year, our focus will be on giving back and showing the healing power of art. We are specifically looking at how our studio can be used as an outlet for children displaced by Hurricane Dorian. The sessions can be a form of art therapy.”

Even with the new event space, persons can still register to participate in daily paint and sip sessions in studio. Couples can sign up in advance for a special event this month- a fun and interactive date night and sip party in studio to be held on October 29th.
