Cargo Stars Warren Brown, Jimmy Jean-Louis & Omar J Dorsey to attend Gala Premiere at Atlantis

British actor Warren Brown stars as Kevin in the film Cargo by Bahamian filmmaker Kareem J. Mortimer. Brown is best known for his role as DS Ripley in acclaimed BBC crime drama Luther.
Brown will attend the Cargo Gala Premiere on October 19, 2017 at the Atlantis Movie Theatre.

Nassau, Bahamas – The stars and producers of Cargo will descend upon the Atlantis Movie Theatre on October 19 for the Gala Premiere of the award-winning film – the largest Bahamian film project in history.
Warren Brown, one of Britain’s most illustrious actors, leads a cast of established and emerging actors in this action packed human drama.
Brown is well known for his roles as Andy Holt in the teen soap opera Hollyoaks, Lee Hibbs in the three-part BBC drama series Occupation and DS Ripley in acclaimed BBC crime drama Luther.
Haitian actor Jimmy Jean-Louis stars as Jean in the film Cargo by Bahamian filmmaker Kareem J. Mortimer. Jean-Louis is best known for his role as "the Haitian" in Heroes. Jean-Louis will attend the Cargo Gala Premiere on October 19, 2017 at the Atlantis Movie Theatre.
In Cargo, he takes on the multifaceted role of Kevin, a Bahamian fisherman with a gambling addiction in Nassau, who takes a job smuggling Haitians to Florida in a desperate ploy to support his family.
"After the many years of hard work that went into the production of Cargo, it’s really exciting to celebrate the Bahamian premiere of the film with the cast and crew,” stated Alexander Younis, Cargo Producer. “This will be the first time that some of the cast will watch the film in a theatrical setting so it’s a very special moment and we’re happy to share this film with the Bahamian audience.”
Haitian actor and model Jimmy Jean-Louis, best known for his role as "the Haitian" on the NBC television series Heroes, plays Jean, a Haitian migrant who trusts Kevin and ends up regretting it.
American actor Omar J. Dorsey will join Brown and Jean-Louis at the Cargo Gala Premiere. Dorsey plays Eddie, Kevin’s long-time friend and conscience.
Dorsey has appeared in The Blind Side, Django Unchained and Selma. In 2016, he began starring as Hollywood Desonier in the Oprah Winfrey Network drama series, Queen Sugar.

On his upcoming trip to The Bahamas Dorsey commented, “I can’t wait to see my friends and all of my family out there.”
Cargo won a Bahamian Icon award in 2017, ahead of its official release. The film has been making the festival circuit within the last few months, recently winning the Amnesty International Human Rights Film Prize at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival.
All-Access tickets to the Cargo Gala Premiere are sold out, however Gala tickets at $90 are still available at www.cargopremiere.com. Tickets are also available at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas and Doongalik Studios.
