Playwright Gea Pierre and the Crazy Love cast and crew returned to Grand Bahama for a final goodbye.

FREEPORT, Bahamas – After seven sold-out shows one would think that Grand Bahama had had enough of the craziness, but it hadn’t and that’s why Gea Pierre, writer and producer of Crazy Love brought the beloved play back for one last goodbye.

Last weekend, Out of the Ashes Entertainment took the cast and crew back to the
stage where it all started for the goodbye show at the Regency Theatre.

The week before, the play was back on the road in New Providence for another
three nights of laughter.

The combination of Pierre’s fresh, new writing style, the experience of legendary thespian Patrice Johnson as director and the witty personality of Remardo Russell as co-producer was a theatrical hit.

The Crazy Love cast and crew have been nominated for the 2016 Bahamian Icon
Award for Best Live Ensemble. Ironically, Johnson, who also starred in another one of Pierre’s plays, Perfect in Weakness, is also a 2016 Bahamian Icon Award nominee for Entertainment for her role as “Ingrid”.

The Bahamian Icon Awards night is set for Saturday, July 2 at the Melia Nassau
Beach Hotel in New Providence.

Devon Brennon, who was determined not to miss the play the next time it was in
New Providences after a disappointing attempt the first time the play was in town,
was pleased to have finally experienced the craziness and thought it was a pleasant
Father’s Day treat.

“It gives you that humor, but at the same time, it is like real life situations going on in our society today and of course putting some humor to it is always good. Laughter is indeed always good for the soul,” said Brennon. “Tell her (Pierre) to keep them coming.”

Another Nassau fan, Maurice Conliffe had not seen any of Pierre’s plays before then.

The Crazy Love cast was back on stage in Grand Bahama last weekend for a final goodbye performance at the Regency Theatre.

“It’s very entertaining. I didn’t expect to come here and get so many laughs,” he said. “She’s doing a tremendous job and I think I need to see more.”

Amazed by the support and popularity of the play over the last few months, Pierre
said she could not have anticipated 14 shows in four months and knows that she
could not have done it without Johnson, Russell, the stage crew and her trusted
sidekicks Diane Morgan, Brian Roxbury, Melvin Miller, Alexis Pelecanos, Donavon
Munroe, Andre Cartwright, Shorrell Dames, Kirk Smith, Ashleigh Sean Rolle,
Matthew Wildgoose, Erica Weir, Mark Gardiner, Kyla Andrews, Mykala and Evan
Williams.

As for the supporters in Grand Bahama and Nassau, Pierre said there are almost no
words that can express her gratitude and the cast and crew had to return for one
last round.

“Thank you, Grand Bahama. You are so good to us. You are the best. Thank you for
loving us Grand Bahama and making the Nassau shows what they were. I saw the
people from Grand Bahama encouraging friends, family, coworkers and former
colleagues in Nassau to attend. Grand Bahama did us proud,” she said, eager about
the next project.
