Freeport, Bahamas - Bahamian film producer Travolta Cooper, will screen the documentary, 'Founding Fathers: Sir Stafford Sands' in Grand Bahama on Wednesday, February 24th at Galleria Cinemas at 7pm.

In the year 1967, Sir Stafford Sands, hailed as the architect of the modern Bahamian economy, left the Bahamas and never returned. Founding Fathers: Sir Stafford Sands investigates this complex man, examines his genius, and seeks answers as to why he left.

'Founding Fathers' was featured at last years Bahamas International Film Festival

"I want people to know that this is not a history lesson, this is not a film where they will be bored. This is a very entertaining movie because I made it that way. But don't get me wrong there are definitely a few historical facts within the movie, that will be surprising to many," Cooper recently told the Tribune.

"I really wanted to explore this man because I feel that there is a lot that history books have left out. There are a lot of misconceptions about him. For instance, one time ago Bahamians thought that he was sent from Great Britain to oppress the black persons living on the island " he said, "but little did most people know is that Sir Stafford Sands was a Bahamian, he was one of us," he said.
