Freeport, Grand Bahama, The Bahamas - On January 6, 2014 members of the Freeport Players Guild met for their annual general meeting. Among other important matters a new board was elected. The 2013 president, Liselle Harris was re elected and Alfred Anderson-Lewis was voted vice president along with returning secretary Leona Roach, Abigial Beaumont as treasurer, and other board members including Sue-Lynne McCrea, Antonio Guarro, Sarah Stretton, Chris Russell, Remardo Russell, and Angela Hackman.

The upcoming year is promised to be another exciting one for the Regency Theatre. Several productions are already in the line for 2014. The Grand Bahama community will again have the opportunity to see some of the Bahamas’ most talented actors, writers, producers, dancers and artisans. It is not just our goal to entertain but also to educate. This year the Regency theatre will host it’s annual summer camp (Center Stage) for 2 weeks in July open to kids between the ages of 8-12 &13-17. The playwright competition is also expected to take place this year. With the successful launch of the YARD (Young Adults Regency Drama) group last year, the regency theatre is continuing to excel in providing a social outlet for creative individuals to grow. Already on their second event for the year, the YARD group will be hosting a Valentine’s ‘Hollywood Lovin’ – Celebrity couple and look-a-like’ party on February 15th at 8:00pm in the lobby of the theatre.

We are proud to be the only full purpose theatre in the Bahamas. The Regency Theatre is also available for rentals. For more information our Rentals director Sue-Lynne can be contacted at 727-1970 or mccreasue@gmail.com. General meetings are held the first Monday of every month and all are welcomed to attend.
