Nassau Music Society pays courtesy call on Governor General

Nassau, Bahamas - The Nassau Music Society (Patrick Thomson, President, Terry Factor, Vice President, Italia Watkins-Jan, Vice-President / Administrator & Linda Thomson, Committee Member) paid a courtesy call on the Governor General, H.E. Sir Arthur Foulkes, before the concert on Tuesday, March 29th at Government House with Alexandre DaCosta (violinist) and Wonny Song (pianist). Both musicians were accompanied by their fiancées, Martine and Luna.

Sir Arthur expressed his love and interest in music and thanked the Music Society for their continued efforts in bringing internationally renowned and  talented artists to The Bahamas.

Alexandre briefly explained to His Excellency the history of his violin, a Stradivarius, which was made in the early eighteenth century. He promised to present it to him at the concert. Both artists were proud to present a cd of their works to Sir Arthur.  True to his word, Alexandre presented his "baby" to Sir Arthur at the concert who admired the little one! Both Artists were extraordinary in their performance.

The last concert of the Season will be held on Saturday, April 9th at 7:30 pm at the College of the Bahamas Performing Arts Centre and on Sunday, April 10 at 5:30 pm at St. Paul's Church Hall, Lyford Cay. John O'Conor, Irish pianist extraordinaire will perform.
