Nassau, Bahamas - "Othello" or "The Tragedy of Conchy Joe" Production Run: Friday, March 2nd to Saturday, 10th, 2012 at 8pm

Gala Evening: Friday, March 9th at 8pm

When the strong willed Desdemona marries against her father's wishes, her world is turned upside down. Her new husband is powerful, rugged, romantic…and white – a Conchy Joe.

Bahamian blood runs high in a radical and feisty reworking of Shakespeare's classic. In this world of opposites, black is white, freedom is imprisonment, and love – through the distorting prism of jealousy – remains as unpredictable as the ocean.

This passionate tale, produced in The Bahamas by Kim Aranha, is told by the same three highly skilled professional actors of the original English production. Bahamian actor Craig Pinder takes on the title role of Othello, Belinda Owusu plays Desdemona and Moses Hardwick portrays Iago.

Following the success of DAT BAHAMIAN TING, Yellowtale Theatre Company has once again teamed up with the Nuffield Theatre of Southampton (one of the UK's major regional theatres) to produce an exciting alternative version of Shakespeare's OTHELLO. Shakespeare in Paradise is proud to help present this original English production to Bahamian Theatre audiences. Tickets: $25 | Gala: $50.
