Nassau, Bahamas - For the first time in the 21st century, church and gospel choirs on the island of New Providence will come together for music, unity and fellowship in the first ever “National Choir Workshop of The Bahamas” NCWB. This bold move will not only send a strong message to our country and region that gospel music is alive and well, powerful, effective and necessary but it will also serve to foster and build a new bond in the music arena that previously existed through an avenue of gospel music that once thrived in our nation.

The NCWB visionaries are Mr. Marquista Thompson, of the Mt. Tabor Full Gospel Baptist Church, and Pastor Clint Watson, of SMI (Shaback Ministries International) of Trinity City of Praise.  NCWB has sent out the clarion call to music directors, praise & worship leaders, choirs, ensembles, musicians, and engineers of the general church community to come together at a three-day music workshop, which takes place October 26th through October 30th 2011.

The workshop will offer sessions in enhancing choir rehearsal techniques, technical engineer training, and a director’s guild along with spiritual renewal sessions. The NCWB also embraces and encourages the talents of our youth of the nation in this vision by incorporating a one-day session for all senior high school choirs in the capital. The workshop will culminate with a grand concert on October 30th, 2011 at Golden Gates International Ministries. NCWB is proud to share this event with some of the greatest lead singers in the Country such as Min Eunice Rolle, Ayanna Clarke, Tamika Smith, Jonathan Farrington, and Min Nadine Moss.

The National Choir Workshop of The Bahamas will take place at the Trinity City of Praise (Workshop Facility) Wednesday, October 26th to Saturday, October 29th 2011 with a Grand Mass Choir Concert culminating on Sunday, October 30th.

The event is a partnership between Shaback Ministries International underneath the direction of Pastor Clint Watson and the wider church community in Nassau. It is the first event of its kind with a five voice choir and featuring leaders and pacesetters from within the gospel and secular communities alike. In conjunction with the Ministry of Education various high school students and teachers will also participate in the choir seminar on Friday October, 28th 2011.
