Nassau, Bahamas - Junkanoo is a street parade with music which occurs in many towns across The Bahamas every Boxing Day (December 26), New Year's Day and, more recently, in the summer on the island of Grand Bahama. The largest Junkanoo parades happen in Nassau and on December 26th the annual Boxing Day Parade took place on Bay Street.

The Valley Boys pulled off a major win sweeping every category with the theme, "The Celebration of Elizabeth 11 - Diamond Jubilee".

Photos seen here are provided by TM Photography and more photos can be found on a new Facebook page called, "Junkanoo Parade in The Bahamas".

One Family came 2nd with their theme, "Hurricane A Comin"; Roots was 3rd with the "Queen's Masquerade Ball"; and the Shell Saxon Superstars came 4th with "A Royal Celebration, Long Live the Queen"; and 5th was the Music Makers with "Bahamian Experience."

The next parade takes place on New Year's Day, again on Bay Street and the Island of Grand Bahama will also hold a New Year's Day parade.
