Freeport, Bahamas - Vanessa Rolle-Clarke is an award-winning singer, songwriter, poet and in April 2014, she added another prong to her long list of personal achievements, when she became a published author.

Known throughout Grand Bahama as Divine Lady, this radio personality from the island’s first Christian radio station, Dove 103.7 FM, recently released her first book - Ready for Repositioning - on Amazon.com.

Anyone who listens to her show - The Morning Worship Experience - can tell that Divine Lady has a heart for the people of Grand Bahama and indeed the Bahamas. Throughout the pages of this book, she pours out her heart in the most beautiful way to share her personal testimony of faith, and to encourage others to believe in a sovereign God.

“I had to make some tough decisions which called for making major personal sacrifices. You know, there comes a time in our lives when we have to weigh what’s most important to us and what’s weighing us down. It’s important to know which tests are designed to propel you and which ones just aren’t for you to take. Changes in our lives, in most instances, help us to become more resilient and aid tremendously in our personal growth. This is what this book is about,” she said.

It wasn’t that long ago that Vanessa was in the same shoes that thousands of Grand Bahamians are still in - without a job and struggling to survive.

“I was in a desperate situation and my entire life was in a drought,” said Divine Lady, who has been a journalist for over 16 years.

“Growing up in a single parent home with my mother, I learned very early how to be independent - getting my first job at the age of 15 as a member of the Royal Bahamas Police Cadet Corps. I worked all my life,” the 39 year-old commented.

“Then one day I had everything stripped away - not knowing that God was preparing me for a greater work.  God turned all of my mourning into dancing,” she said.

Ready For Repositioning chronicles Vanessa’s journey of faith as she shares near death experiences, miracles, divine intervention and the road traveled to God’s invaluable trust. It’s also about preparing yourself for adapting to a new environment, and drastic changes in your life.

“This story is not really about me, though. It’s about God and His love for His children - His capability to do for others what He’s done for for me. It’s the testimony of Jesus and His unfailing love.  Throughout this journey, God was building my character to fulfil His calling - but it called for allowing Him to be in complete control”  Vanessa asserted.

Ready for Repositioning is evidence that He can trade His beauty for your ashes. The ashes are the adversities and trials of our lives that so many have to endure; and the beauty is symbolic of the Lord’s ability to turn those adversities around so that He may be glorified. In the end, you can look the enemy in the eye and say I’m still standing. I’m alive and well. I made it! In spite of all you did to me to try and hurt me, to bring me down, to stop me from reaping God’s harvest, mercy said no. I’m still here.”

If you look at the cover of the book, three things stand out. The author’s image is in the clouds, experiencing the repositioning that is already taking place. It’s a layered type of effect and you can see the author rising up from the ashes - rising up from the coals and transcending above the re-positioning. The cross is the bridge to overcoming all obstacles and stumbling blocks in the way.

“We will be saved not only by the blood of the Lamb but by the word of our testimony. Our testimonies are so valuable to our connection to Jehovah, God.”

Vanessa continued that if you look at the word testimony, it is defined in the “world’s” dictionary as “EVIDENCE obtained from a witness” , but in Christendom, it means “to refer to a specific event in a Christian's life in which they believe God has done something deemed particularly worth sharing.”

Ready For Repositioning is definitely worth sharing. In fact, it’s a major part of the author’s mandate to be an inspiration to others through this book.

“Every one of us has a story to share. When we share our testimonies, we will be helping someone-else who might be dealing with the things we’ve already overcome. It’s about the goodness of God. Our stories are indeed, His stories,” Vanessa said.
