Nassau, Bahamas - The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers Confederation is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Keshelle Kerr as its new Executive Director of the Chamber Institute – the education arm of its organization. Keshelle founded and led The Training Authority, an independent corporate training company where she established herself as an expert in the area of productivity, Microsoft Office and business skills training. She has also cemented her name as the go to speaker and advocate in financial literacy, wealth creation and entrepreneurship education amongst youth and women through her current activities as founder and president of Creative Wealth Bahamas.

Keshelle will be responsible for driving the vision and mission and growth of the Institute.

Keshelle has been making significant strides within the Chamber. Earlier this year she became one of the youngest women to be elected to the Board of Directors and was appointed head of the Public Relations Committee. She began her involvement as a founding member of the Organization of Young Professionals (OYP), a division of the BCCEC and later joined the Educational Committee. During this time, she facilitated several courses for the organization under the previous leadership.

“I am delighted to welcome Keshelle to the executive management team at the BCCEC and look forward to contributions in advancing the initiatives on the Chamber Institute”, said Chester Cooper, Chairman of BCCEC.

“I’m most humbled for the vote of confidence by the leaders of the Chamber to have me fill this role,” said Keshelle. “I’m also excited to bring a new level of energy, experience and elevation to the wonderful members of BCCEC and business community to educate, train and develop their employees.” She also assures her Training Authority clients and students that the partnership between CI and The Training Authority will only seek benefit them even more.

“We are exceptionally pleased to have Keshelle leading the Chamber Institute into our new era of E-learning and certification courses. We are most fortunate to have someone as skilled as Keshelle to manage the growth of such an important division of the BCCEC”, “said Robert Myers, Founder and Chairman of the Chamber Institute.

Edison Sumner, CEO of BCCEC stated, “Keshelle comes on board not only as an executive director but as a member who has reaped the benefits from participating with us, and also a contributor who has provided her vast experience to others. “We look forward to the new and exciting programs and initiatives Keshelle has planned in her new role”.

“Despite her youth, with almost a decade experience and education in the training and development industry and a proven track record of success, Keshelle has the talent and passion to drive this growing division of the BCCEC”, added Sumner.

The Chamber Institute (CI) is a division of The BCCEC and provides four specific training programs to its members and the broader business community: Career Development, Business Development, Online Training and Industry Specific Certification Programs. These four sectors embody all aspects of educational development that will be of value to the business community.  Programs are offered on a continual basis throughout the year using any number of CI approved qualified facilitators offering CI approved programs.
