The Bahamas dominated season 3 of Mission Catwalk, the
reality TV Caribbean fashion designers showdown produced out of Jamaica.  After an exciting season it was down to three male designers for the final episode, David Rolle (Bahamas), Renardo Lloyd  (Jamaica), and Theodore Elyett (Bahamas).

The final runway battle was held at Trident Castel, Port Antonia, Jamaica and designers had 3 months to prepare 12 pieces. A final twist was thrown at the designers before the finale showcase, and that was to remove one of their pieces from their collection, and design a men's look for their line.

Each of the designers gave a strong showing, but it was twenty-eight year  old Theodore Elyett who wowed the judges and the crowd with his London-themed collection featuring rich fabrics, beautiful details and memorable emerald green touches throughout. His cape that converted to an evening gown made everyone gasp in amazement. If anyone showed that they were ready for an international stage, it was definitely Theodore Elyett.

It was double recognition for The Bahamas as
David Rolle became the second place finisher. His line was also sophisticated and wearable and throughout the entire season he remained a favourite When only David and Theodore remained, Mission Catwalk host and executive producer Keneea Linton-George said to them, "You will both be very successful in fashion regardless of who wins tonight."

Theodore Elyett's life has most likely changed forever. Prizes for winning Mission Catwalk are:  to show his collection at London Fashion Week; $500,000 JMD to help start his own line; Industrial sewing equipment valued at $200,000 JMD; a fashion spread in 6 Carlos Magazine; a Samsung Galaxy Note II; a contract to sell his designs at Lee's Fifth Avenue; and a scholarship to study at London College of Fashion.

"It feels great to walk away as the winner!  This is not only a huge win for my brand, but it is also a major achievement for my country as we ready ourselves to celebrate our 40th anniversary of independence," said Theodore in an interview with TheBahamasWeekly.com.

He returns to The Bahamas at the end of the month. "The first thing I want to do is take one full day at the beach to relax. After months of nonstop work, I'm eager for a beach day!  When my rest and relaxation comes to an end I will be fully engrossed in the production of my capsule collection of African print summer dresses for retail at Tanya Saunders Boutique." The collection will feature a line of garments inspired by the first design he created on Mission Catwalk in which he won the first challenge for the season. "I trust the capsule collection will be well received, which will make way for the introduction of selected reproduced pieces from my  'ello London, collection presented at the Mission Catwalk Grand Finale."

"My 12-piece collection was heavily inspired by the culture and street fashion of London. From the bearskin hats worn by the British Foot Guards, to London's cobblestone streets, to strong influences from iconic British actress and model Twiggy." The Pre-Fall collection featured some of the industry's hottest trends including Pantone's color for 2013; emerald green. He has chosen to showcase his 24 piece collection for London Fashion Week in February, 2014.

Theodore Elyett will be returning to his homeland a hero, where he is already a recognized as a successful designer. Thanks to Mission Catwalk, the Caribbean now knows him, and he's well on his way for global recognition.  Look out London!
