Nassau, Bahamas - Enjoy an evening of fashion, art and music on December 21st under the Patronage of Mrs. Bernadette Christie, wife of the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas at Melia Hotel.
Leading the night's fashion component is Javotte Bethel, an avante garde fashion designer and owner of ‘Javotte’s House of Couture’. After a year of
planning feverishly, Javotte is ready to express her explosion of talent in a
Haute Couture Fashion Show which will honour select Bahamian legends and
matriarchs.
“I wanted to give the show meaning and decided to honour Bahamian women
whom I admire," said Bethel. "The first part of this show will actually be paying homage to those
women." Women to be honoured included Minalee
Hanchell of Great Commission Ministries International; Sen. Sharon Wilson; Mrs. Judy Munroe, Salvation Army Advisory
Board Chairperson; The Hon. Loretta Butler-Turner, MP; and former Deputy
Leader of the Free National Movement; the Pastor
Ruth Munroe, Bahamas Faith Ministries International; First Lady
Ellis; Pastor Lee Watson; and The Hon. Melanie Griffin, MP. Overseer Helen McPhee,
and Minister of Social Services.
Along with designs by Bethel, Marisol Zapata-Higgs will present her swimwear line.
Part proceeds from our show to the local ‘REACH’ Organization,
which is an organization that specifically assist children affected by Autism.
Tickets are available at Commonwealth Fabric
(Palmdale) and Ann’s Bridal (Mall at Marathon) and are priced at $100. A cocktail reception will begin at 6pm and the
show starts promptly at 7:30pm. There will also be booths featuring art and paintings
on display.
