Nassau, New Providence - Held at the British Colonial Hilton Hotel on the 30th of March, 2014 Fashion For A Cause exceeded it’s founders expectation as it proved to be a great platform for The Bahamas AIDS Foundation and their campaign of ‘Getting To  Zero’.

Taking the stage, founder, Kendrick David Kemp spoke of  providing an alternative to the Foundation’s ‘Red Ribbon Ball’ which focuses on a more mature crowd but not before The Bahamas AIDS Foundation President, Lady Camille Barnett spoke to onlookers about her organization and their efforts.
Lady Camille Barnett as well as Mrs. Loretta Butler-Turner and  Mrs. Leslia Miller-Brice were all in attendance, joining hands and hearts to the organization’s cause.

Angel K, an upcoming Bahamian artist alongside Bahamian rapper Sasha Dunn, both of the Vendetta Group, open and closed the show, much to the crowds delight. The young performer brought with her an energy that had the crowd responding.

Pieces from international designers, Parke and Ronen as well as H&M and local designer Del Mare and boutiques like the Tanya Saunders Boutique, Lamaris and The Sports Center went down the run way to fun, hip and upbeat songs.

The show, attended by 300 plus locals has become a staple for The British Colonial Hilton, who graciously again donated their room at no cost to Fashion For A Cause.

"The show and the gorgeous look book would not be possible without the financial assistance of sponsors like Executive Printers, The Daily Grind and Coca Cola Bahamas. They saw the vision and stood alongside Kendrick Kemp and our team members long enough to see it through.”- LaKeithra Taylor, Media Director

Taking a step back from their normal line of work, designers David Rolle & Theodore Elyett aided Mrs. Pia Glover-Rolle,
Casting Director, in ensuring that the models and designs were flawless.

The show’s host, former Miss Cultural Bahamas (2013), Ms. Jacklyn Frazer wore two outfits made for her by Bahamian designer David Rolle. The designer did not disappoint as the audible oohs and aahs were heard from attendees.

Realizing that the show would not have garnered the public awareness that it did, LaKeithra Taylor,
Media Director would like to express her gratitude to The Bahamas Weekly who has championed the events cause from inception to now, Profiles 98, Play It Forward Mag, National Newspapers as well as the bloggers and photographers who graciously donated their time and talent to ensuring that shows message and images would be available for the public’s general viewing pleasure and post event awareness.

“Our media partners are truly the embodiment of our motto LIVE. LOVE. CARE.”, Taylor said.

“Everything is being finalized and the next event is already in the discussion stages” said Kendrick Kemp. He stated that the response was a humbling one and that he was honored to bring to light the platform that The Bahamas AIDS Foundation is bringing to the forefront of The Bahamas.

The ‘Getting To Zero’ theme will be one of focus for the remainder of the foundation’s social calendar as they gear up to host their Annual ‘Red Ribbon Ball’.

Kendrick Kemp's dreams were realized on March 30th, 2014 and upon speaking to the founder who has started dreaming again, Fashion For A Cause continues to get better and exceeds his expectations!
