Freeport, The Bahamas - On November 28th, Grand Bahama Island held the Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival launch at Port Lucaya Count Basie Square. The Grand Bahama Junkanoo Carnival Company unveiled its eight prototype costumes and two signature pieces under its 'The Grand Life' theme in runway fashion on the stage.

The Hardour Collection, owned and operated by Anthea Bullard was one of the costume designers.

"I was invited to work with the Immerse Bahamas Team to bring a couture designer's touch to the Bahamas carnival costumes for Grand Bahama," said Bullard.  The theme, "The Grand Life" is what Hardour Collection embodies so I was compelled to get involved.

The Hardour Collection costumes are glamorous and majestic 'super heroes' that can dance and enjoy all of the Carnival festivities while still looking magnificent and couture at the same time.

"My goal was to use enchanting fabrics, styles and cuts to captivate and fascinate the audience.  It was so much fun and I am looking forward to seeing hundreds of my designs together in one to truly portray "The Grand Life" of Grand Bahama."

Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival is a three-day event set for May 7-9, 2015 and is anticipated to help to rebrand the country as a viable entertainment destination. Grand Bahama will jumpstart the Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival festivities with “The Grand Life” experience during a two-day celebration on April 17 and 18.

Costumes can be purchased at the shop space location in the Regent Centre in Downtown, Freepor t.
