Vancouver, CANADA - After the excitement of learning he would fly in a plane for the first time, travel to Canada and wear international designs and walk in an international fashion show, Lacarz Brown, Supermodel of the Bahamas winner 2013 from Nassau made his international runway debut on September 21st at Vancouver Fashion Week.

From the first casting on Monday and each day thereafter, Lacarz showed up raring to go along with Patricka Ferguson (Supermodel of the Bahamas female winner) for auditions and rehearsals. That first day he was snapped up by a designer to wear a signature piece for the designer preview show for the opening night gala, but alas, the designer no-showed that evening.

It is a given that the male models have less opportunity than the females to walk during most fashion weeks, and Lacarz had to accept that quickly.  A couple days later he was scheduled in to walk for another designer, but there was a last minute change due to sizing, and he was outed again.  Not letting disappointment ruin his experience, he attended shows and continued with the daily auditions, all the while keeping his head up, and supporting Patricka as she went on to walk two shows a night throughout the week.

Finally his wait was over, and on the last night of Vancouver Fashion Week, Lacarz hit the runway, and what a runway show it was! He walked for Lee Jung Eun's "Lava Woman", a fun, vibrant coloured and ultra-hip cross-gendered line.   Another male model had declined to wear heels and bunny ears to open the show, but Lacarz agreed and ended up being the signature model for that show.  He walked proudly and well, being first and last on the runway with two outfits.

Later that evening he walked for Hong Kiyoung of Seoul wearing a white zippered leather jacket and pants. After the show he was interviewed by two writers, one for The Province newspaper.

"I would like to thank the Ministry of Tourism for affording us this opportunity to represent The Bahamas. Thank you to Mr Coakley for preparing us for the fashion show, and thank you to Ms. Robbin Whachell for making our trip feel like home. I want to thank Vancouver Fashion Week for letting The Bahamas to be featured for the first time," said Lacarz. "I wish I could do it all over again."
