Nassau, Bahamas - It is not very often we host next month’s speaker together with this month’s speaker. Chris Curry (pictured right) gave an excellent talk on “Black Loyalists” on Thursday 27th January. Darius Williams (left) will speak on Thursday 24th February at 6pm on Church History of St Stevens Parish, highlighting Grand Bahama.

Chris brought his family Raquel and Chriselle along for support. (The family are pictured in front of the Screens of “The Picture History of the Bahamas” painted by Diana Pullinger. (We are still trying to raise money to publish a souvenir booklet of these beautiful paintings)

And we drew our largest audience to support him.

Some of that support were young – students from College of Bahamas, history students with Dr Tracey Thompson, Dr Stephen Aranha and almost Dr Chris Curry ( he defends his PhD on 3rd March)

And some of the support was a little older (Sir Orville Turnquest, Jim Lawlor, Pericles Maillis and Chris Curry)

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Andrea Major for the pictures and to Robert Dorsett for filming the event on YOUTUBE: Here are the links for Chris Curry's presentation on “Black Loyalists” at The Bahamas Historical Society:
