Spirit Of Freedom Narrative
Spirit Of Freedom Documentary New Visions Winning film: SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE / Director Lanre Olabisi Short Film Winning film: MORE THAN GOD / Director Kev Cahill The Industry & Co (I&Co), an official sponsor of the festival, awarded a $25,000 prize package to competition film A BEAUTIFUL NOW, directed by Daniela Amavia and starring Abigail Spencer, to be used for a creative marketing campaign that the firm will produce. Matthew Shreder, founder and managing partner, presented the award. Additional categories out of competition included World Cinema Narrative and World Cinema Documentary; Caribbean Spotlight Narrative and Caribbean Spotlight Documentary; Comedy; and non-Jury Short Films. The Festival also hosted a Screenwriters’ Residency Program and held a variety of panels covering a number of topics including Development & Production, Pitch & Writing Career, Music & Film, Film & Finance, Woman in Film, Editing and Art of Collaboration.
Celebrating its 12th year, the Bahamas International Film Festival has established itself as a marquee international Festival in the Caribbean region, discovering and promoting independent voices and talent from around the world and showcasing a diverse array of international films.
