Nassau, Bahamas - The first day for the 11th Annual Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF), December 4th 2014, is just around the corner and the international filmmakers cannot wait to get to The Bahamas for the festivities and the gorgeous weather. Founder & Executive Director Leslie Vanderpool and Technical Director Karim Duran advised listeners that the countdown is on during a live broadcast of popular radio show “Reality Check” with host Chrissy Love, live from the BIFF Lounge downtown next to the Hilton across from the US Embassy.

Leslie Vanderpool stated that BIFF’s aim is to bring Hollywood and the world to The Bahamas in an 11 day celebration of cinema. She invited all Bahamians to enjoy a ‘moviecation’ from December 4th through 14th, highlighting the many affordable options to see BIFFs 96 films which are listed at www.bintlfilmfest.com. Tickets to BIFF films showing at screens in the Cable Beach Melia Hotel and at Galleria JFK are $3 and $5 and free for students and seniors with ID.

Listeners also got chances to win tickets to the December 5th Friday night Opening Premier at Atlantis and the celebratory Closing night via on air trivia questions. TR Sands and Aldrin Sears who answered correctly won 4 tickets. Vanderpool urged audiences to stay tuned at the Bahamas International Film Festival website, Facebook and Twitter pages for more opportunities to win!

BIFF invited participating filmmakers from around the world to call in and take listeners on a virtual world tour with highlights of their films. Filmmakers and films at BIFF are from nations as diverse as Ethiopia, Japan, China, USA, Canada, and of course The Bahamas. All filmmakers shared an enthusiasm for participating in this year’s BIFF, and excitement to see the beautiful Bahamas and meet other filmmakers from around the world.
