Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - Presentation of the Most Courteous Driver of The Quarter
Award-September 2011 at Rotary Club of Lucaya meeting on September 27th, 2011.
On Sunday, 21st August 2011 at about 12:30pm, Mr Knowles
was driving his taxi#293, along West Sunrise Highway in the vicinity of
the Palm Club Condominiums, when he noticed a female motorist stranded
in her vehicle at the roadside. Mr Knowles pulled over onto the grass
verge and upon inquiring,was informed by the driver that her car's
engine had overheated and stalled.
Mr Knowles not hesitating retrieved a container of
anti-freeze coolant from his taxi and upon filling up the lady's vehicle
with same, was able to re-start the engine, much to the relief of the
stranded driver.
As a result of his considerate action in stopping and
rendering assistance to a fellow motorist in distress, Mr Knowles was
selected as the
Most Courteous Driver of the Quarter for September 2011.
He received an inscribed mahogany plaque and a gift certificate for a full tank of gasoline.
