Nassau, Bahamas – On October 1, 2014 at The Nassau Yacht Club, The Rotaract Club of East Nassau hosted its Third Annual Entrepreneurship Panel Discussion, “New Generations: Bahamian Entrepreneurship”, under the directorship of Vice President and Professional Development Director, Sarah Major. This event was sponsored by co-host NAGICO Insurance (Bahamas) Limited, along with Bahamas Medical Center, NUA Insurance Agents & Brokers, Diane Philips & Associates, BWA (Ensueno), Fun Foods Wholesale Ltd. and Pupstar Entertainment. This year’s theme focused on the new generation highlighting the perspectives of upcoming young entrepreneurs.

The moderator of the event was Noelle Nicolls, Founder and Managing Director of Domestic Tourist, who streamlined the evening and mediated the topics discussed. The guest panelists included Mr. Jaime Lewis (President of Islandz), Ms. Janine Carey (Co-Owner of Liquid Nutrition), Mr. Giorgio Knowles (President of LuiCari) and Mrs. Amanda Ferguson (Founder and Creative Director of Biggity). Each person brought a different perspective on what it takes to be your own boss while running, maintaining and growing your business. The audience was also given a chance to interact with the panelists during the Q&A portion of the event. Raffle Prizes include a private tour for two from Tru Bahamian Food Tours, a dinner for two at Twisted Lime and a solar panel assessment from Bahamas Alternative Energy.

President Patrice “Puppy” Robinson and Vice President Sarah Major were very pleased with the event’s feedback. They both shared that individuals should look out for the Fourth Annual event next year and thanked everyone for their continued support.

The Rotaract Club of East Nassau meets twice a month on Monday evenings at Van Bruguel’s Restaurant. Their next Professional Development meeting is on Monday, October 20th at 6:00pm which will feature guest speaker Mr. Derek Osbourne from The Coalition For Responsible Taxation.
