Eleuthera, The Bahamas
- The Rotaract Club of Eleuthera , celebrated the
end of the school year by throwing a party to support children with special
needs at the Centre for Exceptional Learners in Governor’s Harbour, Eleuthera. This community service project parallels the
focus of Rotaract District 7020 which represents 47 Rotaract Clubs in 10
countries across the Caribbean.
As a result of funds raised at the club’s chartering banquet
in September, the club partnered with Principal William Holland to throw a
party for the 11 students enrolled at the school. Mrs. Nancy Kelly and Kelly’s
Home Center Ltd in Nassau graciously donated book bags, notebooks, folders,
pencils and a number of other school supplies. Rotarians from the Rotary Club
of Eleuthera also joined in on the fun by providing the children with gifts on
their wish list.
“This was a fun event to organize and I was amazed by the
amount of persons who helped us. We hope to partner with other NGO’s to support
future projects in the new year with this school,” said President of Rotaract
Club of Eleuthera, Kalin Griffin.
