Nassau, Bahamas — The Membership and Board of the Rotary Club of East Nassau is bursting with pride to have two of their members win Bahamian Icon Awards. Out of hundreds of nominations for the fourth annual Bahamian Icon Awards, RCEN member Barry Rassin, Trustee of the Rotary Foundation, won the award for Commerce, while Jamaal Rolle won the award for Fine Arts. “All of us at the Club are so proud of both Barry and Jamaal for their wins this year”, said Diane de Cardenas, President of the Rotary Club of East Nassau for the 2016-2017 Rotary year. “Not only do they have the pride of being nominated in their respective areas of Commerce and Fine Arts, but to take home the Award is a demonstration of what we in the club already knew – that these two gentlemen are upstanding Rotarians and excellent Bahamians. We’re very proud”. The Bahamian Icon Awards celebrate greatness.The awards recognize Bahamian Citizens who have exemplified the best intentions of the Bahamian Spirit - that of excellence and achievement. The Awards are also an opportunity to create visible heroes and role models in the Bahamian community, while at the same time saluting those who have taken up the challenge to achieve greatness. The Rotary Club of East Nassau, part of District 7020, was chartered in 1953 and enjoys a strong membership of 118 community minded individuals.
