Freeport, Grand Bahama - In its continuing efforts to raise funds for the club’s charitable community programmes, the Rotary Club of Lucaya will present its Third Annual “MOONLIGHT JAZZ” 7:30 P. M. on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Garden of the Groves. Moonlight Jazz is a thrilling evening of live and elegant jazz music, interspersed with talented contemporary music performers to delight and entertain the patrons. A tasty variety of complimentary hors d’oeuvres and house drinks will be provided to satisfy discerning palates. Of course, a cash bar will be available. Organizers said that the evening is an event not to be missed, as there will be soothing and rhythmical jazz music provided by the renowned Patrick Boston Jazz Band. Other talented performers will include the Grand Bahama Youth Choir, First Baptist ChurchYouth Orchestra, ASP Ken Taylor, Marina Sarles, Susan Sweeting, Ricardo Major, Ronald Dames and Johnny Mathiesen. The evening will also be complemented by the professional and gifted artists of the Grand Bahama Art Association, who will have their work on display and for purchase. For those who enjoy cigars, the always pleasing Graycliff Cigar Roller will be on hand to provide them with freshly and expertly rolled cigars. President of the Club, Philip Gaitor expressed the club’s thanks and appreciation to the Grand Bahama community for the continuous support of its fundraisers over the years. “We are truly grateful for the support that we have received from the Grand Bahama community for our programmes and in particular our “Moonlight Jazz” event, which is now in its third year. The funds that we received are used to help various charitable organizations. In particular, some of the funds from this evening will be used to support Columbus House, Disaster Relief and the Grand Bahama Police Crime Stoppers efforts.” Chairing the committee is Past President, Dudley Powell, who is really excited about how plans are progressing. “We are very much encouraged by the number of organizations and individuals who have jumped in to support us. Ticket sales are very encouraging and, as a result, we ask members of the community to get their tickets as early as possible, because we are only able to accommodate a limited number of persons.” Tickets are available at Global Express Travel and at the Bell Channel Inn.
