Nassau, Bahamas - Rotarians are looking to change the world – with the motto Service Above Self, Rotarians believe the world could be happier, healthier, and more peaceful, by creating a better world through service. Embracing humanity and the commitment to community service, The Rotary Club of East Nassau President Adam Darville joined fellow Community Service Committee members Gavin Christie, Chairman and Past President Michele Rassin to present essential medical supplies and equipment to Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre.

The medical supplies, valued over $5,000 will be distributed to the wards and include wheelchairs, blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeters, manual and electric patient lifts, slings, thermometers, otoscope - ophthalmoscope sets, bath seats and other much needed supplies provided at cost by local medical supplier Ports International.

Presenting the medical supplies, President Darville stated “As a service organization, The Rotary Club of East Nassau considers it our responsibility to devote resources to improving the quality of life in our community. We join forces to help meet community needs, not only through monetary means but also through volunteerism. On behalf of the Rotary Club of East Nassau, we are very pleased to present Sandilands with the much needed medical supplies for their wards. We are also very thankful to Ports International for bringing in the medical supplies at cost.”

Accepting the generous donation on behalf of Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre, Administrator Sharon Williams stated “We are truly thankful to the Rotary Club of East Nassau for their generous donation providing much needed assistance with medical supplies for our clients who will benefit tremendously. This will go a long way in enhancing the care for our clients; we will put them to great use.
