We in the FNM treasure our history and accomplishments as we continue daily to shape our VISION of the future for every Bahamian to make our Country a NEW AND BETTER BAHAMAS for all of us. On the 19th August 1992 when the FNM defeated the PLP at the Polls and became the Government of The Bahamas for the very first time in our Party’s history we promised better. Today as we celebrate that historic victory, and as we once again seek your support and your confidence, we promise that we will make our Bahamas a New and Better Bahamas.

August 19th 1992 became a defining moment in Bahamian history and today marks 24 years since the FNM under the leadership of The Rt. Hon. Hubert A. Ingraham, brought deliverance, transformation and real change for all Bahamians and filled us all with exuberance and hope as a new day had come!

The Bahamian people entered a new world on that 19th day of August 1992 when they said “enough is enough, and rejected that other party and its bad ways.” That is why the 19th August 1992 was and continues to be “Deliverance Day”. Our celebration is a celebration of better governance, improved healthcare, better education, enhanced justice, greater economic opportunities, upgraded infrastructure, deepened democracy, “Freedom of the airways”, Family Island elected Local Government, social justice and the achievement of international respect. These achievements were as the result of great foresight, deliberate and careful efforts on the part of the Free National Movement Government during three non-consecutive terms in office.

We offer a heart-felt thanks to the thousands of persons who supported and helped to bring about deliverance and transformation to our society and with God’s Grace and the support of Bahamians everywhere we promise to usher in a New and Better Bahamas.

Today, we in the FNM re-dedicate ourselves to the noble and historic cause of “DELIVERANCE” and “JUSTICE FOR ALL” and pledge to once again, given the opportunity, move our beloved Bahamas “FORWARD, UPWARD, ONWARD, TOGETHER with NEW VISION and a commitment to building a NEW and BETTER BAHAMAS with God as our beacon lighting the way.

We pray God’s continued blessings on our Party and on our Bahamas.
