I came to Grand Bahama to SAY THANK YOU. Thank you for your overwhelming support for me and my leadership team.
But more importantly, I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU GRAND BAHAMA for your faithfulness to this great party for over 40 plus years.

My brothers and sisters, I know you IN GRAND BAHAMA are tired of the broken promises on jobs and our economy. International agencies have downgraded the PLP government at least 3 times. The IMF and the World Bank have given the Christie Government warning of even more downgrading. Our national economy has not grown in the last 3 years; in fact it has been in the negative. Listen to me closely, the experts say if you have 2 quarters in the negative it is a recession, well the PLP has had 2 straight negative years!!! The PLP has put us back into recession!!!!
I know you in Grand Bahama continue to struggle and even the PLP MPs admit they have failed Grand Bahama.
WE WILL PUT AN END TO GRAND BAHAMA’S NEGLECT!!! FREEPORT WILL ONCE AGAIN BE THE MAGIC CITY!!!
While I appreciate the foreign investor it’s time to empower Bahamians!!! We will ensure that Bahamians IN GRAND BAHAMA WILL have access to financing to give wings to their ideas and drive their businesses. Grand Bahamians are some of the most intelligent, creative and talented people and we will ensure they have the tools to succeed. The FNM under my leadership will
Provide targeted incentives designed to promote an ownership society.
Eliminate VAT on bread basket items. NO MORE VAT ON EDUCATION. NO MORE VAT ON MEDICATION AND DOCTORS BILLS. NO MORE VAT ON HEALTH INSURANCE. NO MORE VAT ON ELECRICITY AND WATER. WE WILL BRING RELIEF TO THE PEOPLE WHO NEED IT THE MOST.

We watched as communities in Grand Bahama, became the breeding grounds for criminality, unacceptable social behavior and limited economic activity.
My Brothers and sisters, Grand Bahama has the potential to be a major tourism, maritime and industrial center and we shall neglect it no more.
The level of potential that exists here is unlimited. As we create the environment to unleash that potential, the effects will be clear and widely felt.
Grand Bahama under my leadership the FNM will:
Work closely with the Grand Bahama Port Authority to ensure they fulfil every commitment under the Hawksbill Creek Agreement.
Work with the Grand Bahama Port Authority to ensure we reduce the cost of electricity by making full use of renewable energy and ensuring the Power Company is regulated by the independent URCA.
Ensure that we put an end to the Nassau centric policy and ensure that Grand Bahama fully participates in the governance and future of the Bahamas.
Create a true one-stop shop for investors to ensure that job opportunities are created in the shortest possible time.
Empower Bahamian entrepreneurs and businessmen by providing necessary concessions to stimulate growth.
Provide land reform to assist settlements outside of Freeport to fully own and utilize generation land and commonage property.
LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR FOR ALL TO HEAR, WE WILL BRING RELIEF TO GRAND BAHAMA’S POOR AND LESS FORTUNATE !!!!
We WILL build a NEW AND BETTER BAHAMAS!!!!

Family Islands will no longer be neglected!!!
WE WILL PROVIDE incentives to Bahamian businesses who return to the Family Islands including Grand Bahama especially the settlements outside of the Freeport Area. Crown land will be made available to Bahamians at concessional rates to create employment as part of our Return to the Islands Initiative.
YES WE CAN HAVE A NEW AND BETTER BAHAMAS!!!!
FNMS, RIGHT NOW! We have an opportunity like never before. We cannot squander our chance for a better Bahamas!
FNMs, We MUST to put an end THIS PLP corruption.
We MUST end the PLP dishonesty and crookedness.
FNM’S WE MUST SEIZE THIS MOMENT!!
THIS ELECTION IS OUR CHANCE FOR CHANGE!
We in the FNM will put an end to the corrupt practices of giving contracts only to our political friends! If you are Bahamian and qualified you will have an opportunity!

AND WE CANNOT LOSE focus on the real issues we face day in and day out.
And FNMS, I am still convinced that, if we speak with ONE VOICE, if we all move with ONE PURPOSE and if we follow ONE VISION, no one can defeat us!!

We will introduce the most aggressive anti-corruption changes ever made in our Bahamas. We will not only wipe out the PLP but we will wipe out the entire PLP corrupt culture.
We will implement a code of conduct for Senior Public Officials and Parliamentarians with sanctions for breaches. NO MORE DUCKING MPS!!!!!
We will make the Public Disclosure Commission independent and update their legislation and powers. POLITICIANS MUST DISCLOSE AND OBEY THE LAW LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!!!
The Auditor General will be given the power to report fraudulent activity to the appropriate authorities. NO MORE FRAUD AT THE POST OFFICE, SOCIAL SERVICES AND ROAD TRAFFIC!!!
We will make laws to protect whistle blowers in corruption matters.
********THE FREE NATIONAL MOVEMENT WILL BRING TRUST AND GOOD GOVERNANCE BACK TO OUR BAHAMAS!!!!!!!!!!!*******
