FNM: Brave Davis struggling to Downplay FNM’s Leadership

The Free National Movement (FNM) issued the following statement regarding Brave Davis’ response to the success of the Hurricane Dorian Pledging Conference:

“Leave it to the woeful PLP’s self-anointed ‘mastermind’, the old and tired Brave Davis, to search for an angle to attack a positive, success in the Hurricane Dorian efforts. Not only were Brave’s latest attacks on the success of the Hurricane Dorian Pledging Conference non-sensical and illogical, but they are also tinged with Davis’ own sour grapes – maybe for past failed leadership to deliver such results in the wake of Hurricane Matthew.

“It’s sad that the woeful PLP has allowed their ‘mastermind’ to turn the party into a broken-record of malcontents who lustily root against any and all positive progress in The Bahamas. Simply put, Brave Davis’ news interview responding to the pledge conference was another embarrassing performance for their party.

“Davis’ series of non-sensical criticisms of the pledge campaign demonstrate his complete and utter lack of fundamental understanding as to how these work. Ready, fire, aim is Brave’s mantra when it comes to things he clearly lacks the capacity to understand.

“Of course, Brave is unclear on the time involved in organizing an event of this magnitude while simultaneously delivering the largest disaster recovery effort in history. He knows nothing of leadership and delivering for the people he serves. Generating empty headlines and complaining is his leadership style.

“What is clear to the people is that this FNM Government is far different than the previous PLP-led Government. Under our Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis’ leadership, we have shown we are in for the long haul in helping people, including those working to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Dorian. Unfortunately, Bahamians affected by Hurricane Matthew were all but abandoned by the woeful PLP when they were in power. At the time PLPs were only interested in how much the recovery effort could pad their pockets rather than trying to alleviate the suffering of the people struggling to recover.

“This FNM Government will not have a repeat of the old days. Instead it will remain focused on cleaning up the PLP’s mess while improving education, restoring infrastructure and building an economy that works for all Bahamians. And that includes continuing to follow through on our commitment to building a solid and well-funded foundation for the long-term recovery effort for the victims of Hurricane Dorian as the pledge conference helped to deliver on.”
