Nassau, Bahamas - Sidney Collie, Chairman of the Free National Movement, issued the following statement on the FNM’s 2016 Convention:

“The FNM just concluded our successful 2016 National Convention. We have emerged stronger than ever, are united and ready to take on the PLP and their empty rhetoric and broken promises. The composition of the convention committee and the twelve subcommittees consisted of a wide cross section of party members and supporters. They were all multi-talented, committed, and fully engaged FNMs. There was no corruption of the process. In fact many of them went beyond the call of duty to ensure that the convention was not only a success but that the integrity of the process was above reproach. By all accounts the convention committee achieved its goal. The FNM appreciates their hard work and wants to sincerely thank them all for a job well done and looks forward to fully engaging with all of them in its general election campaign machinery.”

“Now that our convention is over and we enter the election season the FNM is unified and ready. The PLP has been a grave and disastrous disappointment and the Bahamian people want them out. We have heard the cry of the people. Going forward, a unified FNM will stand together with Dr. Hubert Minnis as our leader as the party positions itself to win the general elections and form the next government of The Bahamas.”
