Nassau, Bahamas - Sidney Collie, Chairman of the Free National Movement (FNM), issued the following statement on the ongoing Road Traffic Department Scandal:

“Just like the sun rising in the east, the Bahamian people can count on the PLP to try to avoid responsibility for everything they have done. Even now yet another minister is trying to pass the buck.”

"How can PLP Minister Michael Halkitis claim that anyone is playing politics when the Road Traffic Department has cost the taxpayers millions, Baha Mar still sits empty and has provided zero jobs of the 5,000 promised, the Bank of The Bahamas had to receive a $100 million taxpayer bailout and the government only takes care of the chosen few while the rest of the country is left to suffer? Bahamians do not want games from Mr. Halkitis and this Government, they want answers and solutions. Even the less informed knows you can't fix a problem when you chose to ignore it."

“So I pose this question to the honourable Mr. Halkitis, how long must the PLP be in government before they are to be held accountable for their actions? It is a simple question but we all know that the PLP will not answer it. They have refused to answer any questions about their endless list of failures and misdeeds.”
