Nassau, Bahamas - The following is a ratification speech by Mr. Celi Moss - Centerville, made on October 31st:

After decades of PLP and FNM failure, corruption, cronyism, mismanagement, treachery and selling us out, what party is going to reconnect the Bahamas to its original vision of Bahamians Owning the economic prosperity of this country, NOT for Friends, Family and Lovers, But FOR all Bahamians? What party? 

The first verse of my opening song “I’ll take you there” by the Staple Singer states

I know a place where aint nobody crying. Where aint nobody worried.

And when I heard these words, I said to myself, I know… I know that it aint no way in the world she can be talking about Centerville. Because let me tell you, under the incompetent representation of an ineffective, lousy ‘outside toilet having”, don’t care Perry Christie all the people up in Centerville doing is Crying. I’m talking weeping and gnashing of teeth crying. Their tears from unemployment, poverty, fear of crime and hopelessness have caused them to cry many rivers.

My fellow Bahamians the people of Centerville are plenty plenty worried. Cause they know that when they can’t pay their bills, feed their children or see loved ones die senselessly in the streets, they know that Until Real DNA Change Comes, there will be no smilin’ faces.

Centerville, it is because of you that I, this Milton St boy Celi Moss, humbly and proudly accept this DNA nomination to represent you, and to fight with you for your causes to bring change to our great community.

Centerville, You Matter to me. You deserve best. You deserve Me. You deserve the DNA.

I have heard your cries for better representation and relief during the hurricane blackout. I have heard your cries for jobs that you may reclaim your dignity and self respect. I have heard your screams for a cleaner and safer crime free community. I have heard your hollering for a better than D average education system for your children. I have heard and felt your pain for the simple desire to be treated like a 1^st class citizen in your own country. Wasn’t it a better quality of life that the majority rule vision was supposed to be about?

The Truth is that Both PLP and FNM have miserably failed You and the good people of this great country. But my fellow Bahamian brother and sisters I’m happy to tell you that the DNA is here in full force.

I said that the DNA is here in full force! 5 years later so many thought we would have disintegrated and thrown in the towel. Yet today, we are still standing united and even stronger than those other parties with crumbling leaderships. Oh how the stone the builder refused shall in 2017 be the head cornerstone. We in the DNA made the sacrifices. We took the bumps and bruises for you.

Now it is time for you and the entire Bahamas to do your part and give us a chance. Give us that chance that you said you would, if we were here in 2017 and if the FNM and PLP didn’t get their act together. Well they have not.

Do your part and vote for us. Give Celi Moss and the DNA a chance in 2017 and Joy will come in the next 5 yrs. Because We are a party hungry to prove that we can do a better job than the PLP and FNM. We are hungry to prove that we can do more in 5 years than they both did in 20 yrs. I for one refuse to let it be said the ‘outside toilet having’ Perry Christie did a better job than Celi Moss. My good daddy would roll over in his grave if I let that happen. I have more pride than that!

Centerville. A vote for Celi Moss is a Vote for You. A win for Celi Moss and the DNA is a win for you and your children.

Cause if it’s one thing we can all agree on is that if the Guineess book of world records was giving an award for the lousiest MP in the world, Perry Christie’s representation of Centerville would win hands down. Folks it wouldn’t even be close. And unlike Shanae he wouldn’t even have to dive for it.

Centerville, here is why I am the best man for the job. Here is a taste of the benefits my representation would offer:

• Regular Mon – Fri Constituency office hours to service your needs.

• Strong commitment to Inner city Job creation

• Aggressive lobbying for increased incentives for the creation and sustainability of small and medium inner city businesses.

• Strong commitment to increasing Constituency’s Grade Point Average

• Strong commitment to increase Inner City College Scholarships

• Strong commitment to a safer, cleaner constituency

• Increased after school programs such as: track, baseball, tennis, basketball, swimming, music, filmmaking, financial and engineering clubs.

• Strong Representation of your voice in Parliament

• Partnering with Constituents to do whatever it takes to make Centerville the #1 Constituency in the Bahamas

• The elimination of outside toilets

Centerville, You have continuously tried the rest and LOSS. Now try MOSS. Give me and the DNA a chance in 2017 to serve you.

Centerville, elections and choosing the persons to be stewards, administrators and executives of your community and country is very serious business. You must choose wisely.

Therefore, I would be remiss if I didn’t share with you some of the things people are saying about some of your past decisions. I am not here to sell you any dreams, so I have to keep it real with you cause I need you to make the smart choice.

Some people are saying “them Centerville people like bad treatment cause Christie have the worse constituency in the Bahamas but them people does keep voting for him. 2 weeks after hurricane Matthew and he just going into the constituency.”

They say, “Centerville people love Bad treatment. They say no matter how Bad Christie treat them, Centerville People will vote for a dog or cat once it have on a yellow shirt”.

I told that maybe that was how it used to be. But used to be don’t count any more. Cause Centerville told me 2017 will be different. I told them that every where I go in Centerville, the people are stressing to me they want an MP that’s gonna have their back. They want a better quality of life for themselves and their children. They want jobs, ownership opportunities and safer communities. They want and need the DNA. Cause both FNM and PLP are 2 sides of the same failed coin. And now they have a real 3 rd option. And they are ready to give me and the DNA a CHANCE in 2017. Cause Christie gatta Go!!

Centerville, I told them what you told me. And They said Celi You Stay right there. They great actors. It’s cheaper you put them in one of your movies. Cause Some rum, tshirt and couple dollars, you wont know when they switch.

So Centerville, the ball is now in your court to prove them wrong. If you are serious. If you truly don’t like bad treatment and want better, I gat ya back, ya front and ya sides. If you really feel Christie Gatta go, I say the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Hence Whether you are FNM, PLP, DNA you all have to endure the blackout of Christie’s bad treatment. So it’s time for y’all to make a pac. Regardless of party affiliation, it’s time to unite and get rid of the person that’s keeping you and your community down. This is your chance to vote DNA and get rid of Christie. Vote for me and he will pack his lil georgie bundle. If not he will be 100 years old sucking on an oxygen tank and still wanting to be shuffling out his terrible representation. When are your kids going to get a chance if Christie don’t ever want to leave ? When will there truly be a bridge to the future. You Centrville will have to ensure that a bridge is there and you do that by voting Christie out!

Centerville, If you love your country, please do the entire Bahamas a favor and send Perry Christie’s into a permanent retirement. Please send a message to the entire Bahamas and every upcoming politician that “ this aint a game. That Centerville don’t care who you are. If you don’t’ do your job. Ya fired.”

Centerville, Let’s make history and fire Perry Christie. Vote for Celi Moss. Vote DNA. And We will take u there.
