FNM: PLP still irresponsible

The Free National Movement (FNM) issued the following statement regarding Brave Davis’ failed motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Minnis:

“Like relics of the past, the latest politically motivated stunt by the old and tired Brave Davis and his most loyal henchman, Fred Mitchell, only serves to remind Bahamians why they cast aside the woeful PLP in historic fashion in 2017. Davis – mastermind of the PLP’s diminishing relevancy – was followed blindly by his PLP flock on a senseless vote of no confidence where the outcome was known way in advance and was never in doubt.

“The people ask Davis and his aimless flock: Why waste so much time and effort when there are so many other pressing needs to focus on? The woeful PLP has been relegated to child-like tantrums, protesting the fact that the people voted them out of power.

“Our Prime Minister, Dr. Hubert Minnis, and the FNM Government know that play time is over and they have been focused on the pressing issues at hand, especially disaster relief and economic recovery. They have made great strides to end corruption, which is a true threat to the PLP – a party that sees elected office as roadmap for fattening member bank accounts.

“And even as the woeful PLP talks down any and all progress the country is making – literally rooting for The Bahamas’ failure – under the Minnis Administration we are seeing sustained, positive economic growth for the first time in nearly a decade; new and improved infrastructure; safer, cleaner landfills; a true commitment to education; and, there are more jobs and opportunity for Bahamians.

“Now that the woeful PLP’s latest political stunt has ended, it’s high time Davis and Mitchell end the partisan politically motivated charades and get back to work because Bahamians deserve nothing less from their elected leaders.”
