FNM: While PM Minnis leads, Davis and Mitchell play political games

While our Prime Minister, Dr. Hubert Minnis, is working tirelessly to unite our country in its fight against the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, the PLP’s leaders, Philip Brave Davis and Fred Mitchell, seem united in their effort to continue their regular petty politics throwing out a steady stream of nonsensical political attacks at every turn.

When the health and livelihood of Bahamians is under jeopardy, the Prime Minister is taking firm action to implement the proper steps to save lives and bring the country together. But despite the PLP’s petty sniping from the sidelines our Government is resolutely working to save the lives of Bahamians, and we are making good progress.

Sadly, as Bahamians continue to make sacrifices in the hope of preventing the spread of the deadly virus, Davis and Mitchell are getting back to their political messaging of talking down Government efforts to help the country. Like a broken record, stuck in the past, the duo never offers any coherent solutions. All they know is personal political attack, insinuating that the Government isn’t working rigorously to resolve the issues facing our country.

Bahamians are fearful of the invisible virus and are looking for true leadership. Davis and Mitchell continue to turn a deaf ear to the people who want unity rather than pursuing their narrow and selfish political agenda. The PLP duo seems tone deaf to the suffering in our communities and the deadly threat of COVID-19.

Rather than presenting workable ideas, in response to the Prime Minister’s call for teamwork and identifying solutions, Davis has offered divisive rants in hopes of gaining headlines. The country grew tired of these antics long ago. During this unprecedented crisis, Bahamians are even less open to that approach. Davis is demonstrating that he is not capable of being a proper Prime Minister. Unity is not his way. For power he will pursue all types of petty political antics while the country’s focus is on staying safe and healthy.

The time for politics will come, but it is our sincere hope that Davis and Mitchell will hit the pause button on their partisan political show long enough to join the rest of the country as we work together to protect Bahamians and our economy because the people deserve nothing less from our elected leaders.
