Official Opposition Leader, Dr. Hubert Minnis, MP, says he was delighted to once again be a part of the annual National Family Island Regatta on Exuma this past weekend. Minnis says organizers and participants of the event are to be commended for their determination and dedication to keep the wonderful tradition alive. "At the very core of the success being realized, is the people of Exuma who draw thousands to that beautiful island every year;" noted Minnis. The Opposition Leader, who has been visiting and spending time on Exuma for decades, says under a newly elected Free National Movement government, funding and other particulars to sustain and improve the major annual cultural event will be thoroughly examined. "Clearly the organizers and sailors need greater government support;" Minnis added.
