“The PLP continues to shock me with the lows that they will reach when it comes to lining their own pockets. They are willing to sell their party to an eccentric foreign billionaire, give government contracts to their friends and family and appoint those same friends and family to oversee and run the Bank of The Bahamas. The same bank that required a $100 million bailout not that long ago. We need to elect people that will work” – FNM Chairman Sidney Collie

Bank of The Bahamas Chair Admits Political Influence

Over Past Lending

The Bank of The Bahamas chairman has admitted that political considerations influenced lending decisions under previous Boards. He conceded that there was “no question” some lending decisions had been influenced by politics in the past, when pressured by Dionisio D’Aguilar over the BISX-listed institution’s corporate governance issues.

We have confirmed the following individuals serve as Board Members at BOB:

· Wayde Davis, Board Member and Managing Director- 1st Cousin to the Prime Minister

· Eric Gibson Jr., Board Member – Brother of Member of Parliament and Minster of Labour and National Insurance Shane Gibson

· Don Davis, Board Member-Also serves as the Assistant Treasurer of the PLP

What The PLP Actually Did:

The PLP Government again sold out the people of The Bahamas. They did not appoint those who were best qualified; they appointed their family, friends and party insiders. This sounds just like the way the PLP gives out government contracts. The PLP only looks out for their benefit and not that of the people.
